What modifications have the members of the forum done to the stock swing away tire carrier to permit the mounting of a larger tire and wheel? Longer wheel studs? Or some other sort of mod?

also who sell the gas can carrier that mounts to the lug bolts of the the rear spare? Thanks

I used to carry a 35x12.50 on my stock carrier. How big are you going?

you can get a 35x12.50 on a stock carrier. The only problem is if the rim does not sit flush up against the carrier. If the rim sits out on the studs, it will cause a failure of the studs (from constant bouncing/flexing of the rim and tire) or cause the stock carrier to begin ripping. Usually up in one of the outter corners. I took my stock carrier to a fab shop and had them duplicate it exactly, except for they made it stick out 3 inches more. This way my 32 does not rub against the body, removing paint, or flex the studs
