Foreal, sorry for the delay, had to leave town for work for a couple days...

I really like Trailbus set up custom bracket, very nice. better set up than mine I think. Mine is cheap and simple but it has worked for years now.

Also, my rig has factory f/r electric lockers so you will notice the wire for the front locker in the pic, there has been no issue with this, their is enough slack in the conduit for this application..

I will send another one with rear photos also.

See attached pics for front set up.

pic #1 shows baled lynch pin vs factory bolt/nut.
pic #2 shows ease of disconnect (flat ground prefered)
pic #3 shows sway bar up out of the way (similar to trailbus with use of bungy)

ok ok now i get it. I have to make a little bracket.

TLC81 i am still waiting on your slick design.

Thanks guys!

the rear is different.
I think for anything more than weekend wheelin on a daily driver removal of the entire rear sway bar is best.
For me this set up works but I have lost perormance on the road because of play in the rear sway set up.
I remove the down tubes before I hit the trails but you could leave the down tubes I guess so you do not need to drill little holes in them. I am not too concerned cause I have beaten up my truck pretty good. I like it beaten up:D

Not sure if this makes sense but rear uses same baled lynch pins and also clips for top of down tubes.

Let me know. sorry about my terminology.

last pic shows benefits of flex with swaybay disconnect. Picture doesn't do justice but there is a steep drop off 12" from my passenger tire...

I have a similar design for the rear sway bar QD. Truth be told, I no longer disconnect my rear QDs, only the front ones and that seem to force the front axle to open up more. I think the rear has plenty of flex with the sway bar connected but YMMV.

thats a great idea alia176. Did you make those yourself or did you order?

I agree, the front sway prevents more flex. when I disconnect the front (easier for my set up anyways) I get noticable more flex.

Thanks for the the pic.

You're welcome and thanks! Yup, home made items.

In my experience, having the rear connected sort of "forces" the fronts to open up more. I think I've since welded up the rear QDs.

Cheers.

nice setups guys. i think i have something similar to the pin leftover from my 4runners swaybar disconnects. will have to see if it fits the bolt hole for the front swaybars. tcl81...looks like the entrance to hut?

as for the rear, well thanks to 2 broken bolts on the axle mount and 1 broken bolt on the frame mount (IH8RUST!), my rear sway is off for the time being. a bit more sway but my springs are pretty stiff so its not that bad. once i put in my 6" softies, the sway bars will be back on. i like the sleeved solution alia176has made.

has anyone ever done the hitch pin mod on the DS arm with disco's? any clunking around during bumps ets with all the slack now in those arm mounts? id imagine hitch pin + front disco would release some much needed flex in our front ends..

Right you are Double Down, Hut it is....:D
