Super HAMOM: August 20-21 Will be held at Hard40's garage off Highway 11 (up the street from Aunt Sue's). Bring your own tools, parts and flip-flops and we will help you with your project, if we can. We should have power and air available. Bring extension cords, if you got them. In the past we have done suspension lifts, axle rebuilds, bumper installs, etc...

Alan is going to let us camp on his property and we will probably grill-out for dinner.

So who is planning on coming? I'm planning on bringing the 80 and getting a long laundry list of things done.

I really hope to be there. I don't have any big projects, but will bring the Pig, trailer, and will help others. I'll probably show up Friday late afternoon, might hang out a bit but will go home to shower/sleep.

coming up friday and possibly saturday. I still need to replace the tie rod ends on rig. May just wait and try to tackle it with u guys. Other than that nothing planned.(no $$)

i'm waiting for a PM back to pay the fee $15 buck membership fee.

I have a knuckle/wheel bearing kit from marlin crawler that needs to be replaced (not leaking...want to keep it that way)

So what is the most extensive repairs you guys do at these types of events....i should have all the parts for my isuzu swap by then j/k

and i have been told i have atleast one blower that needs to be worked on.

any idea on how much 80w90 i need to get and how big a bucket of axle grease i need to buy?

How does everyone feel about helping do a FJ40 front disc brake swap? If so I might bring the 40 down, if not i'll drive the 80 and help everyone else. If I can lure todd down I may have him bring his trailer and RTT which would be cool.

paid the membership fee (however they did not give me the option to send 15 bucks...only a pro rated fee)

paid ten...will pay the other 5 when i see you guys there if thats cool

I would love to cut my rear bumper off if the tools are there and available. I actually have another one i could replace it with but may not even put that on for right now.

Oh and would be willing to kill if someone with a bigger brain than me with a welder and cut off wheel/grinder was there to replace a rear quarter for me. I got no welding skills and no body work experience.

If you just want 'good enough' aka: trail quality, then I can do it for you. I'll be helping John Lee with his axle rebuild but should have some time. I have a welder and angle grinder.

I'm not sure if i can make it anymore...my sons mom will be at drill that weekend and the wife already has plans for the day with our daughter so i have no sitter as of yet. I'll try to work on getting my mom to watch him for the day.

I'm pretty sure i'll be taking the son to Glutches that day to hang out with a few of you guys if i don't make it to the wrenching. I'd bring him along to the wrenching but at 2yrs old he's fun but forget getting anything done when he's awake.

I've got a shortlist of projects for my truck (upper ball joint replacements, finish body chop mounts, install air horn), but not sure if I'll be able to make the HAMOM. Next few weekends are going to be guided by our progress on Bertha's engine swap. This weekend all we will get accomplished is cleaning up the frame for mounting of new motor mounts and lowering new block into the engine bay to check alignment. Our mentor won't be around to let us get much further.

That is pretty much what i am after. My only big problem also is sat. i have my kids bday party so probably will not be there until late if at all. I want body straight enough to paint but that is over a year away. I just don't want my body panel to rust away in my building when it could be rusting away on my cruiser.

I can probably help you out with that. Marshall (Trollhole) will be there too and he can give us some pointers.

dude, if you get the welding close I'm great with some body filler. Metal glaze...they sell it at finish masters. It's a little under fourty bucks for enough to do about 12 fenders. It won't flake off like bondo and is easier to work with than all-metal.

Just get some sand paper pads for an 18" body sanding block and i can help you out one evening when it starts cooling down. I don't like wet sanding with my own sweat, the stuff makes a mess when sanding down.

Sounds like a plan. I'll have gimpey do the cutting, I'll weld in the new piece, and you can glaze.

it will be fine to primer/rattle can over it. I'll have to rough up the surface before applying the metal glaze but it will stick to any paint unlike other fillers...you could rough up clear coat and put metal glaze over it.

I love it when a plan comes together!
