sweet.... Ill bring my gas tank and let ole valve springs weld er up tight

I figure itll be bomp proof

or BOMB *poof*

either way quality UC entertainment.

I'm bringing one.

I have a 2 1/8" (Its very close and works fine.) but not sure if I can make it up yet or not, kinda feel guilty spending that much gas $ with no job. :( But I may have something by then, who knows.

I need to do some work on my pickup but no $ as of now. (paint topper, replace topper shocks, clunk noise in drivers front, want 4.88 diffs, tube bender/tire carrier in the bed.) We shall see if I can make it or not.

I'll have my Mom that weekend but I'll be able to stop by for a spell. I have a hub socket and a fluid transfer pump I can bring along. Any other SSTs you guys need? Air tools? BFH? Clutch alignment tool? Drum brake adjuster? Compressor? Jack stands? Floor jack?
It'll be good to fire up ol Gundy and let him socialize a bit. It's been a long time since he's been around Cruisers other than our 60 and 80.
I'm afraid with my back situation I will not be of much use as a wrencher but I can observe with the best of them. :grinpimp:

my mom is still going to watch my son for the day...so while he's with grandma i'm hoping to get the axle done.

I'll be bringing a small compressor, enough hand tools to rebuild pretty much any small engine and a cooler full of beer.

Can someone PM me a phone number so i can call/text for directions?

I won't have an impact with me as the shop is open on sat and i don't want to leave the guys without a way to remove blades.

I have sockets up to 36mm but thats it.

I may also have a 2" body lift by then but i think i'll need little to no help with that install, just a bigger jack than what i keep at the shop and a 4x4. I've gotten so lazy at the shop i use a forklift to rotate my tires.

Was hoping to have my H55 installed by then but turns out it has a bad 2nd gear so i now i have to wait on a rebuild before it ships.

Alan has a 60 gallon compressor

I'll bring a bunch of air tools, jack stands and a jack.

crap...forgot to add jack stands to the list!

looking forward to meeting you guys, i see eventhough all over town atleast 3 times a week. One of these days we will end up heading in the same direction

Gonna hopefully replace tie rod ends and hopefully eventhough will make good on his welding offer to replace quarter panel.

Sounds like Steves tapped out on the welder, you guys got room for one more axle rebuild?
could someone drop me a PM on Hard40's back 40......havent made the journey past aunt sues.

is the garage directly off of 11 or do i need a physical address to look it up??

i'll also be needing directions. I'm planning on leaving out Sat morning early. Anyone from the s'ville/greenville area that knows where this is wanna meet up and ride out together?

If someone has an extra bottle of mig 75/25 gas please bring it. I'm in MI for several more days and won't have time to pick up another spare bottle in time. Some spare .023 wire would be nice too.

I need to get my tank filled anyway so I'll bring it with some wire. Does your welder take big spools?

His house is about a 1/4 mile off hwy 11. I'm sure we will be sending out an e-mail with directions on it.

Trying to check with the wife if I can make it up or not.....

Does anyone have some spare tube that could be used to make a spare tire holder for my truck bed? (And will fit in the club bender.) I want one to mount vertically in the drivers rear corner behind the wheel well in the bed. Might be more than can get done in one day though as I haven't a clue of plans on how to make one?? Let me know and I might can get some plate and lug studs to make the mountings surface.

I hope to make it as I really enjoyed helping rebuild axles last time I made it up as well as the fellowship and cruiser talk. That and there is just something special about Alan's place and a bunch of cruisers sitting around, even if I bring a pickup ;)

do like i do...tell the wife what's up and that your going whether she likes it or not

(i do this wearing all my hockey equipment for protection)

someone here has got to have a hook up on some metal! I'm wanting to make some custom tube bumpers for my cruiser so it doesn't look terrible with the 2" body lift.

I'll be hitting up some of my customers who do alot of racing/welding this week so i'll ask for a tire mount bracket for you while i'm looking for some 6-7ft tubes.

She agreed to let me go this evening, she will probably go with the kids to the in-laws in sunset just down Hwy 11. Although I didnt specifically tell her I probably needed to drive the truck not the 80.

I dont think I need the actual bracket but if it is free/cheap then please go for it. I think the tube bender for the club uses 1" and 1 3/4" I would think two 5' pieces would be more than enough, but I havent a clue. Give me a call is you still have my cell and run into something. If I can u want me to bring up the springs I have? You can have them as we are cleaning out.

so you need two round 5ft tubes for the tire mount bracket or do you need channel (rectangular shaped)

if you can come up with a crude sketch drawing on ms paint or scan a post-it note with some doodles and dimensions i can get a little better idea.

As for the springs, if you have them i can play around with them. I was wanting to make a hybrid pack but with one leaf broken i don't really have an even amount of springs so i'm waiting til man-it-aint-free to get back in some OEM height springs...or any other cruiser shop. I've found them in Aus. but i'm not paying the freight to get them from Aus. to here.

When i say my springs are saggy...i was able to put the 2.5 over stock shackel on without any assistance at all other than a 3ft pry bar. Now the fronts...i had the fork lift. a BFH, an extra set of hands and a 5ft pry bar, even then shackels barely went on. I bent the snot out of the front shackle and since all the over sized shackle in the rear did was level my ride height i'm running the OEM rear shackle (maybe 1/2" if even that much longer than the front) on the front leafs.

Depending on how much clearance the body lift will give me with being able to raise the 4bd1t up in the engine bay will determine if i need the 1.25" extra lift from the HFS shackles in the front. If i have to put them up front that means i have to do something about the rear height ASAP unless i want to return to my saggy butt look

So what is the schedule, not sure if I missed it somewhere in all the threads.

Is everyone going up friday evening, or saturday morning and camping saturday night?

I am debating whether or not to bring my Taco up and install the lift and build some sliders, stay at home and finish the 40, or head to the beach and go fishing. I am leaning towards finishing the 40, but how often doeas a man get a free weekend pass from the wife, and the chance to hang out with some awesome rigs, drink beer and grill with great people!
