Well, I neglected to get pictures and I'm not pulling interior pieces for them now, but I just finished with my install.
I don't have convenient, affordable access to any sort of CNC cutting implement, so I printed the template and cut it out with a thin disk. I DO have a brake, so it was easy from there. I simplified the design in a couple of areas for the thin disk - less rounded corners for example. I also changed the brace a touch, making it slightly larger on both sides and braking each end at a 90, so I could spot weld it to the main piece, rather than welding edge to edge (if that makes sense to anyone).
Let me preface by saying that we're not going for a high end system here. I just wanted a little more grunt on the bottom end, it's not 1994 and I'm not trying to impress anyone but myself. Furthermore, if I DID want to build a proper system, the sub wouldn't go at the very back of the rear quarter panel. So, I originally planned to use the CV VPAS10, but it was out of stock when I went to order, so... I happened to glance at the Boss10. I usually skip on by Boss, but I noticed something: it's he same form factor, and the exact same plate amplifier as the VPAS10. There are minor cosmetic differences and the speaker itself may be different, but I'd bet good money that Boss and CV are owned by the same conglomerate at this point and they're being built on the same line. So, saving $60 off my original plan, I went for it. Along the way, I also replaced the cracking factory sound deadening in the quarter panel, and stuffed the area with automotive Thinsulate. Before and after on the insulation was NOTICEABLE. Much tighter overall sound, and no more sympathetic vibrations, absolutely worth the effort.
End result, honestly, pretty good. I'm still playing with tuning the crossover vs the other speakers . I think to be truly happy, I could use a bit more low-mids from the door speakers which would allow me a slightly lower crossover point, but I'm nitpicking. I can listed to what I want without feeling like something is missing, and I really don't have much into the whole project. Calling it a win!
