Hey guys..
Chasing info on what parts toyota actually upgraded in the brakes from 1992 to 1993 onwards.
I have a early 1992 hdj80 and have already dont the front rotors and calipers to the later model size and calipers
I want to upgrade the rear too. I know the rear rotors are bigger but unsure which of the other parts are changed.
Is the Caliper a different size to accommodate the new rotor or is the caliper the same and the backing plate mount a different size

91 92 come with semi float rear, some 93s have them then in 93 changed to full float, different brakes
You would need to install a full float axle to get the disc brakes in back.

I have a JDM/australian spec 92 . It came with full float rear with disc brakes . But the rotors for the 93 onwards are bigger (diameter: >92 315mm 92-98 336mm)

Tryna figure out which parts are the different ones between these models
