Not sure why that's in their press brake section, it looks just like my dies for my Swag bender.
I bought a 2" before I knew what I really needed and not sure where I'll use it.
That makes more sense. I couldn’t figure out how it would work in the press. Ha. DJ and I did the cage out of 2” and it looks great.

Interesting, I thought most cages were out of 1.75?

Depends. 2" is used on most high speed offroad stuff. If it's a tighter build, I like 1.75" for packaging.

I disagree. The 2” packaged pretty well!

It's tight in a factory 40 lol. You have al ot more space with the stretch and moved seats.

I’m taking a few days off to get some work done on the Cruiser. I’ve got the left side of the crossmember cut from the frame and a new bracket bolted in place. I should have the right side cut and prepped for the new bracket by the end of the day.

I used a piece of 3/16 plate bent at 90°.
I drilled six holes and installed threaded weld washers, then I welded that to the frame. I took two pieces of quarter inch plate bent at 90°, then I flipped them back to back and welded those together. The quarter inch brackets are bolted to the frame and tack welded it to the cross member. I will box around the top of the crossmember and gusset, the sides, etc. when the crossmember is out. It’s way over built and I should never have to worry about it.

I have been playing the same game today . We have been flirting with marketplace for a few hours now 🤦🏻‍♂️
Marketplace is dangerous. Their algorithms are dialed in way too well for my temptation.

I have dreaded fixing my crossmember mount for a few years though I am glad that I am doing this work. It would have been a tricky situation had something gone wrong while I was away from home. The transfer case was off in an hour once the crossmember was removed.

The tail housing on my NV4500 is cracked. It has leaked since I put fluid in it a few years ago so I bet that it was cracked when I got it. I’ll call the transmission shop tomorrow to see if they are willing to warranty this.

I assume this is the aluminum one?
I switched mine out for a cast one when I knew I was going with the 205, when I thought I was going to have to carve on the case to let the 205 levers work. Since then put them out the rear and with the Magnum turns out I wouldn’t have had to do that.
All that to say, I have an aluminum one if you need one.

This was supposed to be the response to your cracked tailpiece post. I’ve had a weird editor as of late…

Thanks! I’m heading over to the transmission shop this morning to pick up another one free of charge.

Cool! You can’t beat free, unless it’s going to break again.

They talk good about these.

After the guys at the transmission shop learned about what I was running the transmission in, they told me that they wouldn’t run the aluminum tail housing and they recommended the same cast-iron housing. Although they had a cast-iron one in the shop that was also broken, it came out of a fleet vehicle and he said it was the first cast-iron one that he had seen broken. I might as well get a cast iron one coming while I’m here.
