Andy, I am on my 2nd 80 series truck, having owned them off and on for almost 11 years now, and have had 2 different OME setups on my rigs. My first truck was on J springs, and my Lexus has heavy front/heavy rear with 1" front spacer. looks proportional with the 35" tires, and with the nitro charger "L" shocks it rides pretty good. I have front and rear bumpers, and it still rides a bit stiff, so a medium setup may work great for you. That said, if I were to do it over again, I would be interested to try another manufacturer like Dobinsons or the Tough Dog that Trail Tailor distributes. If I had the $$ I would look into the Slinky setup, but that is some high dollar stuff right there. You can buy an 80 for the price of that suspension!

Good luck, man!

Since this thread got bumped, @Jeeper the LX still kickin'? Made any more trims? And if you get tired of it, let me know, I'd be interested.

Because taking them apart wasnt enough! That ford running again? :)

UM, it depends on what your definition of "running" is :poof:

I mean technically, it would run, and drive for that matter, but not very far or for very long as it currently sits...

Cole, 93-97 should work. The 3FE rigs flares were a little thinner than the later trucks. I just went back and looked, the rig in the yard did have all 4 flares, but I have no idea if they are still there.

Which yard in Manchester? I went to one in LaVergne that had a LX450, but found out quickly the front flares are completely different and have part of the door molding/paneling built into the flare.

I just checked their inventory, says truck is still there. Don't wait to long, they usually leave vehicles on the yard for 3-4 months then they crush them

Thanks Roger, I’ll try and get down there next week.

They will look good on the Grand!

I went with the Dobinson 2.5" kit. It raised the truck exactly 3". sits pretty level and rides a lot better. It came with caster bushings and a new steering dampener but i didnt get it put on yet. Now to rebuild the front axle and replace rod ends and i think this truck will be good to go for awhile.

80 looks good.
