I don't have a problem. When asked about the shafts, you responded new and checked out. You did not provide all the data.

The last thread many people provided suggestions on things to try and you were not receiving. I feel I am pretty fair as a moderator, but your welcome to your opinion. Just like your opinion that the 100 series is superior.

It's obvious your technicians are not qualified to work on this or it would have been resolved. I am not saying they are not qualified techncians, just not in this area. You don't want to learn how. So we are kind of at a standstill.

I will bet you $20 that if you brought it up to Slee, he would have it diagnosed within 4 hours of reciept, anyone want to add to the pot?

1. In almost every way, the 100-series is superior.
2. My technician is well qualified and has done many lifts for many vehicles. He doesn't do diffs though he's rebuilt a T-case on a Discovery. Is he a Cruiser expert? No such thing in Tucson. OK Tim on FJ40s.
3. I cannot learn how to do my own work. I have severe tendonitis from working a lot so I can pay cash for Cruisers. :flipoff2: :D I don't have the strength in the arms to even install sliders like I used to.
4. I'll not take your bet. Though I'd guess he'd find it in under an hour. The cost to transport is not worth it to me.

It's probably an EZ fix for Slee, Robbie or a zillion of MUD owners. I have $20K in the thing now. It's a sweet truck. If I could sell it for $19K I'd do it now and get another 100. Hell, if a 100 can do this (just like my 80) why deal with old 80's. http://shottscruisers.smugmug.com/gallery/1928333

1. Many of us would disagree, maybe thats why your 80 doesn't want to behave.:D
2. If you re-read what I said, I stated he is probably a qualified technician, but not qualified (like Slee or Robbie, etc.) to solve this problem. I think we agreed on this point.
3. I understand.
4. You basically agreed with pont 2.

I have seen lexusben and farnim wheel there 100's and they are very capable vehicles, after all, they are Land Cruisers. I am not going to debate which one is better as it comes down to personal preference.

Just for the record John, I have no issue with you. I met you and your wife at CM05 and thought you were nice people. You did look a little nervous about wheeling your 100 though:eek: .

My suggestion is to take a few hours and in a list detail everything that was done with specifics, don't leave out swapped driveshafts even if you have new ones there. Check the list to make sure nothing is left out and then post a long post of what you have done in chronological order.

You didn't mention if you cleaned out the splines like I asked a bit back. New drive shafts can be overfilled with grease too.

Well....as you can tell...the Lexus has frustrated me. It's up for sale. A second 100 will be bought and built. It will ride on 36"+ tires no matter the cost. Frame cuts, shortening, and all. All custom done. If you see me wheel IN THE SECOND 100 I won't look scared. I won't have $75K in it and it won't be my DD. :D

Have you thought of buying one in Denver and having Christo mod it to your specs?

HILARIOUS! Nothing's been ignored. What planet you on?

me?

3rd rock, naturally...it's the world where people take the advice they get from excellent sources..hmmm...no, I doubt you've been there...

so :princess:? what color's the sky in your world?

looked nervous?

I was there...it was more than "looked"

John,
Since you said you could live with it. Why don't you bring it to CM07 and all the experts will be there to give you advise at the cost of beer. maybe even some help, like when Robbie tightned your bearings

it would seem to me that if you can't do your own wrenching then we shouldn't be talking to you.

The person we should be talking to is your mechanic. Bring the truck down to him, demonstrate how to make the problem appear and give him our forum address.

Your just getting in the way of progress right now.

My favorite thing about this forum is the constructive sharing of information, and the way everyone keeps a positive attitude.

It's always nice to see someone like Shotts who's so enthusiastic about his vehicles, and people like Slee and Tank who always have friendly advice.

something tells me that you're driving at something...but I just can't put my finger on it...

what could you be trying to say?

Why would you want to ruin a perfectly superior :princess: 100-series? :D :shotts: :shotts: :shotts:

Hmmm....I haven't seen you attempt the left side of Three Feathers Kev. Come to think of it, I know of only 2 80-series and 1-100 series who have ever even tried it. ;p

Maybe we are being too hard on John. But you should realize this is part 2. part 1 is here and you will notice positive help by all involved, at least for the first 200 posts or so:

Nope. Not too hard. There's something up with the rig. I'm sure it's something EZ to fix. I'll live with it until I sell it. Thanks!

any chance you'll sell the other 80 as well?
