Still---lexus Vibes At Standard Ome Height!

Yeah, I'm not against the thought of putting the 6" lift on, simply because we're talking about a truck that's been messed with a bunch, I doubt that one more round of modding before Christo sees it will make a difference to him. That's his call. If it were a stock truck with a vibe problem I'd say fix it before lifting, but it's nowhere near that. I don't think the lift will fix it though, as you tried everything in the book (forum) that would normally make it right at every other ride height it's been at. Sometimes miracles happen, though. Worth a try, in my opinion, as long as you don't irritate Slee. :D I guess the worst that could happen (beyond him refusing to work on it, doubtful) is that he charges you to put it back to stock to diagnose it, then charges you to install the lift once it's fixed.

I hope you can fix it before you get too frustrated, that truck would be awesome in the hands of someone who also has a 'nice' truck- meaning you can run it at its full potential. :D

At stock it was bone silent. We'll Slee what happens when it's on. :D

Actually, Slee's been very cooperative through this who ordeal. Maybe because he knows I'll be buying and building more Cruisers. :D

Maybe another direction to go in- someone mentioned their exhaust had been rubbing on a shield or something, making vibrating sounds. My wife's truck, which I bought as a recovered theft with minor damage from being ridden hard through the desert, makes a nasty little metal-rubbing sound occasionally while accelerating and turning slightly. From the sound it's clearly a tin shield rubbing on something, but I couldn't find the problem with a ten minute inspection. I could imagine something similar making the sound and feel that you're experiencing.

Here's an offer: get your parts together and bring the truck to my house. I'll install them and while doing so see if I can figure out the problem. This is NOT intended to indicate that I feel I have the level of expertise that Christo could give you, but I do know how to install the parts, and I'm fairly handy- being a handyman and all. :D If I can't find the problem, you've paid ($35/hr) to have your parts installed. If I do, you've paid to have the parts installed, and you owe me BIG TIME. :D

Just because I know you are going to buy this one :D

Oooh, a 105 in the making!

Dont know if its been said, but... the rear pinion should be pointed down a degree or two because under throttle the pinion rotates up and causes vibes. turning it down makes it right where it should be under throttle.

Ever swap tires to check if it was just the tires vibin?

Tires were on first even before the lift. Smoooth......

How does one make the next post in this thread the same as post 1. That way we can have it cyclic.

Hey....thanks for your help again, by the way. We'll slap the crap (ooops, sorry :D ) on and report back. (I couldn't resist!)(Though I'm looking forward to seeing those new 42-pound arms.

HEY....QUESTION: Why doesn't anyone make rear arms that are constructed like your front arms? I see them on Discovery's. You know....the rectangular type vs tube type?

I was quoted $450 one-way shipping and 8-hours @ $85/hour to "work the lift and look for vibes". Sounds reasonable, though with the chance that the 6" upgrade might perform just fine, it's not worth just shipping it...to me.

Drive it and then fly back.

SUCCESS! Today after doing a rear-main seal swap, we threw on a rear D/C driveshaft. YES!

0-60 MPH is 90% better!
60-70 is 80% better
70+ is 70% better
No speeds have GRRRR!

At the latter speeds some vibes are to be expected.
Around town there's simply NONE! I can actually hear the 4.88 whine for the first time. :D

So that's it....I'm keeping this gem and there will not be a 2nd 100 for awhile!

Thanks to all for the help along the way.:beer::beer:

Tempted to take this sucker to CO instead of the 100.

LMAO, your idea of success is way different than mine. Glad you are happy!
