Spare tire hoist spring???

so like a dummy, I was swapping some tires around and failed to stop spinning the crank when i felt resistance….
Long story short the spring has gotten stretched out and mangled, and I can’t seem to figure out where it would attach to…it must attach to something fixed/static

mine end was attach to the silver-ish arm, then it wrapped around the crank and I assume it attaches to something out of sight?

I placed the spring how it was positioned on the inside.

My stupid questions:
1) is this serviceable?
2) if so where does the spring attach and can anyone point me to a diagram of the inards/guts of this thing

btw this is a rust free vehicle, and it is easy to replace but would like to fix it and spend the hundred bucks on something more fun if I can.

Here’s one. I installed a set of the OEM leveling plates on my front shocks yesterday. It took a lot longer than I anticipated, but I was patient and made sure I had the right tools, so it turned out really well! My question though is about torquing the LCA eccentric bolts and the shock bolts after it’s back on the ground. It’s impossible for me to get the angles and leverage needed for the force required for those (207 and 130ish IIRC). How do you guys do it?

Drive the truck up on some ramps.

I also did the OEM spacers yesterday. I put it on ramps and used a 3 ft torque wrench 2 clicks at a time for the rear LCA bolt, front is much easier with a medium extension. The rear are awful and time consuming.

My stupid question of the day about lower LCA torque. The tundra specs say 221ft but I have seen some graphics posted on this site that appear to be from a service manual that say 170ft. Which is it? I didn't feel like they were 221ft when I broke them so I only did mine to 170.

Quick 1, what oil do Lexus use in for the 17+ LX570/3UR-FE?

She's due for a service soon but heading out this week so just want to give it a quick top up... or if I can be bothered I'll just drop the whole lot and refill myself.

I and others use 5W30. Many use 0W20.

Eh, not new or perfect, im gonna end up hacking it up when I pull the trigger on an aftermarket.
Best bet would be a salvage yard if you don't want new. I think all of the aftermarket replacement bumpers, I have seen, have you cut and keep part of the skin.

Since I bought my '11, the gauge cluster has looked like it was cleaned by the head product tester at 3M's biggest sandpaper plant. I've been trying to track down a part numbers for the tach and speedo cluster lenses (or lens, if it's one piece), but have had no luck whatsoever. The only lenses I've been able to find appear to be the left and right covers for the notification light areas on the outside of the main cluster.

Does Toyota offer the cluster lens as a replacement part, or is my cluster destined to look like my sandblaster has a very specific grudge against my ability to know my speed at any given time?

Randomly/coincidentally this product popped up in a YouTube feed. It looks like some kind of screen protector - like for your phone. But it's supposed to cover up scratches in plastic.

I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE WITH THIS PRODUCT. just happened to see it on YouTube literally 30 seconds before seeing this post.
