I have to admit I haven't looked closely enough under the hood of my 200 (shame on me). But from your pics it's looking like Toyota is still using the plastic "T"s in the coolant lines that spawned multiple and long issue threads in the 100 forum.

Unless something changed in the plastic formulation used by Toyota, probably should be included in the 90K mile service for our 200s. Mentioning it as I didn't see it in the 200 series FAQ thread (it's here in the 100 series)

I want to say the plastic has changed between the 100 and 200. I have yet to hear of the dreaded plastic heater T failure in 200, and we have a few people in the 200k+ club here. That said, a 5/8 brass T is only a few bucks if it'll help you sleep at night.

Yup, plastic "T"s are still there. I routinely replaced them in my 100 and have no idea if the formulation is the same in the 200. At least they are more accessible in the 200.

I've 2 boys and been down this road before. Spray 9 is an amazing cleaner, I'd suggest you give that a try.

That's some serious miles. I have 82K on my '14 and the tech at the dealer said something like "man, you drive this thing" would love to know more about your driving and how it does past the 1/4 million mile mark.

Are you trying to update maps? Or play music? Maps are updated via thumb drive. Music is another story...

Has anyone re-purposed the 3rd row seat wall mounts? I'm trying to think of something to mount there. It would be handy to be able to use the OEM wall lever to 'quick release' something from the wall. Its odd looking having those levers and holes in the walls that serve no purpose since 3rd row seats are gone. Might as well use them for something. Can probably remove the bracket that fits that hole from 3rd row seats or just fab a similar shaped one.

My idler pulley has started to chirp and squeal. I noticed it while driving with the windows down the other day and was able to confirm the idler pulley as the culprit. With almost 125k on the clock, it's not a big surprise.

I'm going to replace the idler pulley (which needs to be serviced), as well as the tensioner and accessory belt (as preventative maintenance).

I've done this job once before on a Jeep Wrangler and it was pretty cut and dry. I did a search and couldn't find any threads on here discussing the idler or tensioner.

SQOD - Any tips for replacing either/both pulleys and belt on the 5.7L? I'm assuming the process would be very similar, if not exactly the same, as the Tundra of similar vintage - which has a few videos of varying quality on YouTube.

The nav on my Taco is not reading the sd card so I thought I'd swap cards with the LC and see if the problem was in the card (corrupt).

Well that was interesting.

Wife has been in severe pain all night, she's either got a kidney infection or a stone. About 30 mins ago I finally convinced her to let me take her to the ER.

Get her in the Cruiser, it's raining and right about freezing out, dash temp says 33d. Got to the end of the driveway, pulled out onto the street and eased into the gas, boom the truck lost all traction and did a perfect pirouette in the middle of the street. Spun all the way around. Wife shreiking the entire time, and not from the pain.

WTF... Doesn't this thing have any traction or stability control at all? No beeping, no warning bells, nothing. Our '04 Highlander is much better behaved than this. Unfortunately it is still in the body shop or we would have swapped vehicles.

Got the truck back to the garage, she refused to let me go any further. Will try again in the morning.

These KO2 tires are great in deep snow, but wow do they suck on ice.

Your experience with the 200 in snow and ice has mirrored mine. So the SQOD is are dedicated winter tires better than an AT with the RMA mountain/snowflake symbol? Multiple types of AT's over the last 20+ years. Most recently Nitto Terra Grappler's, and Cooper AT/W's (mountain/snowflake).

An expensive experiment initiated by far to frequent sliding on what the ski resorts absurdly call "packed powder" i.e. ice.

I had the original rims leftover from the swap to the TRD RW's, so I installed the latest generation Blizzak's. Softer compound, more siping vs. an AT tire, hoped for a bigger difference. I've found most AT's do well in the snow, but really slick stuff no way. The Blizzaks's are good, but still slide more than I'd like. The 200 just doesn't seem as planted, more of a feeling than anything else. Well that feeling AND the occasional loss of all traction.

Maybe I should just stop trying to drive this behemoth like a sports car.
