LOL@ thinking Stony isn't newbie friendly. Yall took the wrong trail. I wish someone would have woken me Saturday morning. My apologies, but trail guides came up to the group twice Saturday morning, I just wish they had been more adamant of their intentions. They were there to lead the group through easy-only trails.

You know you are special when a dignitary from the Mexican Government shows up to address your Land Cruiser group.View attachment 1139607
I was touched that Mr. Garcia bought us dinner on behalf of the people of his fine nation. Much appreciated.

Yep, maybe a little more planning and communication. Maybe even a safety check:

1) Have you aired down?
2) Do you know how to air down?
3) Are your fluids secured?
4) Do you have sanitary wipes on board (or kitty litter)?

16 3/4 hours behind the wheel of the tow rig.

949 miles, and 100 gallons of high octane in the same truck.

A day on the trails with old and new friends in relatively rare trucks ....

PRICELESS ....

Yep, maybe a little more planning and communication. Maybe even a safety check:

1) Have you aired down? ...... According to Onur you can use a rock.
2) Do you know how to air down? ....... Not until Onur showed me the rock.
3) Are your fluids secured? ..... Obviously not
4) Do you have sanitary wipes on board (or kitty litter)? ..... 10lbs of each required

Wardharris......Yep, maybe a little more planning and communication. Maybe even a safety check:

When Peter and I originally discussed this weekend some months ago, our primary goal was to get a few local 70 Series owners together for a "greet and meet" where we could put "face to avatar" and share a few meals and beverages. It obviously morphed into some much larger and in my opinion much better. I'll be the first to admit that the "trail riding" aspect of the weekend was WAY above my paygrade. If we do this again next Fall and I hope we do, someone with this experience and background can set up the guidelines. :)

Your "guides" never made it clear that's who they were and I thought they pounded on your door as we left for breakfast.
:deadhorse:

Just made it home . Had a great time ! Thanks to everyone that had a hand in putting this together. When's the next one?

I would have liked to take a closer look at this 55 Series but I wasn't tall enough. :)

If we end up at Windrock, I know that area pretty well and can come up with routes of varying levels .... It is really a pretty cool area.

As I dig up photos and have time, I'll post them.

@beno, please hook him up with a bonnet insulator setup ;)

I've asked the local clubs to send me a list of their members who attended so I can post a total list which will hopefully include names, 'MUD handles and types of Cruisers.
