Yep, working in the dirt is CRAZY!

If I had an option, I wouldn’t …but since I don’t…I do.🤔

Get those shake down runs in...this was a fun find as we pulled into the driveway after handing the rig a beating:

Punched through it just before parking. Ill be back...I'm headed to buy a lotto ticket.

We gotta see this driveway!

J/K. How are you going to tackle the clearance issue? Just mod the pan?

Yup. Gonna pull the lower pan tomorrow and notch it out. The bumpstops saved the aluminum upper pan, so ill call it a win overall.

Eeeek. Had a buddy's RG nearly eat through his front cover...scary stuff. Armor is handy stuff.

Good save…go by that lotto ticket.🤞

Slight delay with the T-Case rebuild. Buttoned up & ready to stab in when we took one more measurement.

One of the Thrust Washers on the idler shaft was extremely worn and caused excessive wear on the case itself. And even with a brand new Thrust Washer, the tolerance is way out of spec.

Will call around Monday to see if this is something to worry about or maybe a workaround…maybe a thicker Thrust Washer…don’t know.

These aren’t the ones in question but take a look at these 2 worn out ones.

SUNDAY UPDATE: Georg is the man…no surprise. He left a text yesterday and said I could give him a call on Sunday for some tech help if needed.👍

Georg says to slap it together & stab it back in. Said this was not a uncommon issue and he has searched hi/lo for thicker Thrust Washers etc. None available so dance with who ya brung.

Jerry Fie @2mountainfish who was with us at SAS3 (camo lined 60) is giving me a huge hand with the rebuild and now that we have heard back from Georg, will come over later today & we will get it stabbed in hopefully.

And yes, Jerry knows we will be working on a dirt driveway…well, and a 3X8 piece of plywood.😁

SUNDAY UPDATE #2:

Saturday : Toyota, one. John & Jerry, ZERO.
Sunday Pm Toyota, ZERO. John & Jerry, one and done!

Was not fun working in the dirt and it gave us all kinds of fits…but the trany & t-case are in and the 4 bolts holding it to the bell housing are snug.

Drive shafts, cross member etc etc will be done tomorrow.

You are correct Casey…a great community indeed. Georg @orangefj45 and Valley Hybrids answering the phone on a Sunday & giving us tech advice, and our friend and fellow SAS attendee @2mountainfish working on a Sunday, we got her done.👍🎯🤞

Glad to see y'all got it sorted, John.

Had a little success over here as well. Got the bleeding pan cut away and stitched up.

Here's to many trouble free miles to all this SAS crowd 🍻

Looks like I'm late to the fun. Me and My wife will attend for sure as observers we have a room booked in town and will happily cruise the mountains with you guys and gals. Hope to meet some people and buy a T-shirt if available. 85 fj60 blue, lifted, ARB front bumper, LCR rear bumper w/tire carrier. Probably a couple of little dogs in the truck as well.

Got plenty to do and with a herniated disc flaring up it’s been kind of hard to make progress. I feel your pain @thatcabledude
I hate it for you man. It sucks! Ibuprofen and power through!
