I am on my 4th '69 Mustang. Cause sometimes I need triple digit speed! The 351W was actually a great fit and I love that horse! I won't apologize, cause the other 3 cars and trucks in the drive are all Toyota!

I'm pretty sure the comment was because your bezel is upside-down, not that there is a prancing pony...

The blue 40 a couple of pics up is perfect. allan man if you have more pics, post up.

Question: Is the Spare mounted on the stock carrier? Can it handle the weight over time?

Thanks for the kind words everyone.....Yes the stock tire carrier is used in the previous pictures above,However here is the updated picture of the New tire carrier from manafre ( Dave G. AKA LCWIZARD).....the stock carrier hungout about 5 inches on the rt. side and was a little to low for my taste.

I know it's a little premature, but I was able to drive my 40(around the building) for the first time in a year and a half today, so I'm a little excited.

Finally able to contribute to this thread. Ill post better updated pics when I have finished my project.

Move up to 37's on My SOA 1981 Fj40

Swapped from OEM power steering to FJ60 power steering to handle the 37x12.50 R17 Pitbull Rocker radials on 4.5" BS Level 8 ZX rims with UHMW screw on rim protectors from Discount tire. I used 1.25" spacers as well.

What size lift springs are all of you running with the SOA?

Some of the pictures seem to have flat springs where others have some arch. My project has what I think are 4" springs and an SOA, it's up there. It's still on 33s with my 37" IROKs waiting for wheels and to be mounted. The tires require 17" rims so I'm stuck trying to decide which wheels to buy. I'm also stuck trying to decide what springs to replace my existing springs with.

I don't want to stuff the tires in the fenders so I was thinking OME 2 1/2" medium springs on all 4 corners on top of the SOA. Also thinking 1 1/2" springs might get me there too. The other "problem" is I have no body mounted yet so I don't know how much "stuffage" I have now to help answer these questions for myself.

Sorry for the long post and thanks for any replies.

Stock springs minus 2 leaves, but I have a gozzard tub, too. My springs are pretty flat.

Stock FJ60 (HJ60) springs front and rear with the rear shackle hanger flipped to accommodate the extra length. I removed a couple leaves from the front and rear to soften the ride and level it out. There are still plenty of leaves in the pack.
It rides like a dream... seriously, it rides better over RR tracks and bumps better than my '07 Tundra. The wheel base is extended to about 94". the front bumps forward and inch or 2 and the back about the same.

1972 FJ40 on 37x12.50 MT

Bought this as a parts car because the PO rolled it. It was a nice setup besides the fact that the steering was not done right (the reason he rolled) Sorry I don't have any better pics but you get the idea. Thanks for your service!
