I did my annual trip with the Keefers and some other friends of ours to our regular Pisgah campground.

Did some exploring of the back roads.... nothing too wild as we had a ford fusion in tow that had to make it through what we did.

What started out as a 1/3 mile hike turned into a 7 mile hike with 4 kids in tow so many of us ended up carrying a kid at least 3 miles. But the payoff at the frigid waterfall/swim hole was worth it.... no bathtub water here.... barely a step over glacier water.

What did everyone else get up to??

Yard work on Saturday, plasti dipped my grill on Sunday, drank WAY too many beers Sunday night and was 3.5 hours late to work on Monday. Successful Labor Day!

Canoeing and tubing down the New River in Jefferson, NC. It sure was nice weather in the mountains...82 degrees and 70 percent humidity. I know y'all were sweating it here in the middle part of the state.

Installed cabinets in the shed-mansion. Near complete with the FJ40 carport. Made yet another perfect pork butt in the big green egg.

I took the family to Camp Harrison, a YMCA camp near Lenoir, for their family camp. The kids had fun being kids and the parents had fun acting like kids. We were able to do almost all the activities the camp offered including a waterfall hike (pales in comparison to the one Al visited), high ropes course, archery, paintball and bb-gun range, kayaking, paddleboarding, talent show, smores, etc.

Cooked, cleaned, and fed Jennifer a steady diet of pain pills after surgery on Friday. Worked my a-- off on Monday so I can go chase elk in CO very soon ...

Drove back from DC after spending the weekend with a couple of friends. Went to the Annapolis waterfront and hung out, ate some crabs, drank some beer, and just hung out. Really lucked out with traffic going in and out of DC.

Camping with family at Lake Ridge resort in Hillsville va. A trip to Mayberry and to the Hillsville county wide flea market. Lots of fun. Used the CVT tent for the first time. Huge attention getter around here.

We spent the weekend at the lake. Finally went skiing for the first time in a couple years. I'm no Joanna, but I didn't fall. ;)
