Not sure about bolting through the body over time your going to get stress fractures and cracks where it cant flex.
I cut my sills back and bolted to the chassis

Really dig the whole 1 piece tube thing. Haven't seen something that clean looking before.

Mine are mounted with bushings at the frame end. Only because the guy I bought them from said it was a good idea and I went with it. It's bolted to the body too. I've beat the crap out of them for 5 or 6 years now and there's no rocker damage on my Cruiser.

Most I've seen aren't mounted with bushings though, so I don't think you really need them.

Jason, would you be able to post a pic.

Thanks

Well i've started,

I try to keep the original Runners size, i will cover it with a 3/16" check plate, Should look nice. I'm still undecided to how i'll attach it, to the frame of the body. I know some will say i should have gone with the tube all the way back, the rear section is weak, etc...But i think with a good support in the back where there are no tube it will be fine.

that is an AWESOME setup...iv been thinking of how to do that cause at some point i want to have tube fenders and sliders...probably next year at some point...can you post (or PM) me some more pictures of that on the truck? looks wicked:flipoff2:

Finally got the checker plate installed and welded, has i was expecting with Stainless Steel the poor thing was badly bent and rounded after it was all weld, even tho i took lots of time and disperse welding. But thanks to one of my workers who worked all is life in Stainless Steel shop. You can see on the other slider the heat point required to make it straight again. Amazing what they can do, they mark the piece and heat if with great patience and it becomes back straight like you wouldn't believe when done properly. He also gave me good tricks on what to do next time i work on SS so it stays straight.

They still need lots of buffing, Next the inside body support.

very cool, i like how you used the 90* piece to keep it together where the seem runs down in front of the door.

Well, went wheeling today, and smack the sliders, nothing like testing your design and share experience. But i have to say i went hard at it :hillbilly:

And i didn't end up using the winch! :grinpimp:
