What about getting a bid from Jack down at Edwin's shop? Maybe just a quick scuff and paint, and not do a whole lot of body work??? Just a idea.

FYI - I was in the same boat with the Mustang. After wet sanding, and compounding the rest of the car - you can't tell the new paint from the old. And Jack did that for me.

IT NEVER ENDS. Stopped by there this afternoon and guess what I found? There she was looking like she did a few days ago all dolled up in paper and masking tape! They were not pleased with the transparency of the paint so they sanded her down and they are shooting her again. Like I said before, unreal attention to detail.

Tell them to color match the existing paint this time :)

Found out that they buy PPG from Tasco. I have no idea why they can't nail it. I was told that they compared the prophet (gun) formula to OEM and they are almost dead on, but when the paint shows up its visibly different. This afternoons batch was school bus yellow! Thank god they didn't use it.

Thanks Tucker. This is the exact code that was sprayed. Just going to have to do it all.

Here we go, painted and curing for 24 hours before the pin striping. Color is pretty darn close when compared to some of the parts that have been protected from 35 years of sun.

This is going to turn into more than just a sill and rear tub job, I'm going to go the distance once part at a time. Im going to put it back together and then start with doors and all the top components. I'm going to break everything down and do all the rough sanding and prep, may get involved in the filler and finishing as well but Im going to have them shoot the pieces. Once that is done I will break it back down to do the fenders, hood, cowl and front half of the interior.

Got a stat on reassembling but its going to take a while, seems like I'm starting a grocery list of items that need replacement. Marker lights and reflectors for sure.

Biggest discovery

Every mounting screw in both tail light assemblies is sheared off in place. Anyone with some magic dust or am I breaking out the drill and taps?

THere is an upside, Riley grabbed one of my buggered jump seats and dropped it by later this evening, good as new and all it cost was a

I will make Billy's on Friday but it will take a field trip down the street to see the 40. Hey the fridge is full of Stone IPA and its free. Better check with the :princess: first before I start a party.

I'd try to grab the back side with some small channel locks or vise grips and thread it through if you can. Those are just self tapping screws, so no need to re-thread ...

Definitely want to check it out -

Tucker
