Humm, I thought it was illegal to run ram assist on the road?

Nice rig by the way.
Depends on the state :meh: Its OK in Georgia and I think Virgina. Not sure about any place else.

I went ahead and added a stabilizer after adding the saginaw :meh: I don't really detect a difference.

Here's a different solution.. this is what Poor Wally came up with for a stabilizer when he did my saginaw conversion. This is the only time i have seen it done this way.. what do you think?

That it is probably not really doing a whole lot being that it is leaking oil...

just noticed that when i went to take these pics.. i don't look at my stabilizer too often especially during the cold winter months.. i guess he used a not so high quality shock.. it's only a year old.. time to replace that.

in reguards to set-up though.. is this really "ghetto" as someone put it? i appreciate the feedback.. just trying to learn more about my junk.

A steering stabilizer is just a band-aid to mask the underlying problem.

Funny how these trucks came with a band-aid from the factory.

Tom I will be running one with mine. Plan on cutting off the 40 mount and moving it. I have pictures I can set you of a friends truck that wally did which is more traditional.

They came from the factory with manual steering, not with FJ60 or saginaw power steering. In a manual steering setup they help absorb some of the bumps and vibrations, w/ power steering they are not needed if everything is in good condition since steering effort is minimized.

So then whats the reason they put them in the FJ60 from the factory.

On your rig and what you do w/ it, that set-up is just fine.:D

it isnt that bad really, the mount on the axle housing should be a little higher to be more parallel with the tie rod, really i dont like the mount on the tie rod.

if it works for you it works for me.
