Thinking of selling my 2016 Land-cruiser. So far the best bid was Carvana with 43K. Never been in an accident, Never towed, and garage queen. Less than 69K miles. Should I try for private sale or take the 43K? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Post an ad with some pics in the classifieds here so we can have a shot at it before the dealer/Carvana. Service history, upgrades, color combo, etc.

Unfortunately, it does seem kinda low but probably reflects wholesale. It’s always harder to sell privately beyond the 10-15k price point - dealers know it and exploit it every day.

CarGurus has 5 similar listings nationwide in the 16/17 years with 50-70k mileage and priced 55-60k from dealers.

That being said, one could probably list for $50k assuming overall condition is comparable etc but expect to negotiate private party. For the moment we are in more of a buyers market and while the audience for these cars is strong, it is small relative to other makes/models of vehicles.

That being said, maybe you get ask or maybe you get 45-47 but in the end it may not be too far what they are offering at Carvana.

IDK - no great answers from the selling side IMO

Appreciate the feedback so far and yes I will get some pictures posted. Thanks guy
Make sure you post that in the Classifieds section :)

It's very low. Even on the dealer wholesale market it's worth at least $45. My job is buying Toyotas. If someone came into the dealership I'm at, that would be my first offer (assuming it's the pavement princess as described). $43 is trying to steal it.

Carvana bid is going to be lower than private party but keep in mind the market has softened considerably. Not exactly the best time to sell IMO.

I would never sell a face lifted cream puff 200 for 43k at your mileage. These rigs are built like nothing else (and will ever be built) on the roads. New cars are not necessarily better than what these old beasts are designed with. Emissions standards took a toll on these newer generation rigs.

Remember, the biggest car regret people have are selling their land cruisers. It’s just something that’s never really recommended. (Unless it’s rotted out of course)

Agreed.

That’s a desirable vehicle for sure and there will 100% be a private party buyer at $50k+. Over in the Facebook groups there’s lots of sales activity. If I were in your shoes, I’d list it at $58k private and see how the market responds, assuming it’s in princess condition as stated. GLWS.

I tired to post classified ad was not able to due to privilege.

The vehicle is perfect and its a shame what Toyota has done with the new "Landcruiser"
Agreed. I was in a dealer the other day and they had a new 250-series on the floor. I was NOT impressed, it felt cheap and flimsy to me. Not interested, I guess I'll be keeping mine for as long as possible.

FYI... I would remove photo #3 from post #12 above. Took me only a minute to get right to your front door in Google Maps.

Where do I send the money !

I would give you $46k, oh wait I forgot I have a son in college that puts a hole in my pocket.
Seriously, I think it's worth 50k. Get it detailed and it will be an easy sell, trust me.;)
