Side note, I may be in Austin this summer (Sept.) and I'd buy you a beer if it works out Commander Lee.

Standing by...just let me know when you're inbound. I'll be ready.

I'm going to have to work on 80 owners getting credit for wanderlust. Then I'll buy a 40.

Do it. Find a rust free southwestern 40 and I'll deliver it to Montana for ya. :D

.... my wife and kids think I am so weird when I pause the tv in the middle of a show or commercial to point out a glimpse of a LC. I bet money this crowd can relate

Yep. Tonight during the news we saw a Claritin commercial with a beige 40, and an AT&T spot featuring a 60.

On another note the wife always points out 40's in every show or commercial, she's awesome.

Same situation here. My wife spotted the 60 in that AT&T commercial tonight. She called it to my attention, stood up and took a bow, said "I know my Cruisers," then went off to bed. Very cool exit.

Sweet, my lady gets the Cruiser thing, maybe not that well, but she gets it..

Today we load the mutts in the 80 and take the dogs to the river to play, tomorrow I load my butt in the 80 and hit the beach for 3 days..

Playtime..

Interesting talk about wives. My wife talked me into buying my first Land Cruiser. How cool is that?

Now I own a half dozen and she's cool with that too.

Some women are absolutely amazing and it seems that many of us are lucky.

The snorkel on our 80 was her idea. Yesterday I put in the new tail lights without having told her they were coming. She LOVED them! It's nice when they get excited about the LC too. My 7 year old daughter hugged our LC when we got it back from the mechanic a month ago. The Cruiser really is like the 5th member of the family.

44 pages of wow...... You sir can tell a story.

I live in Houston, next time I am in Austin I would like to buy you a beer. When are your cruiser meetings?

 Sorry. The sidebar about wives + excitement about my lights got the better of my judgment.

However, I did have my first oatmeal stout last night thanks to the thread. It was pretty good. Samuel Smith from England. Gracias, amigos!

With me, it's absolutely a wanderlust thing, and I can tell you first hand that the urges are not a function of age. They definitely don't fade over time; if anything they increase in intensity.

same for me :steer:

Wow. Its taken me quite a few sittings to catch up, but am finally here. A little sad noe though, as i have to wait for the Commander to write the next instalment. I've been blown away by the whole thread, the epic adventure (which I can only wish for) and the huge impact the military seems to have on American lives. I'm Australian and being in the military, I'm a bit of an oddity here. Although Vietnam and the current conflicts do impact on our lives, its rare to bump into someone else directly involved.

Loving the music, and share the enjoyment of a few mirco brewery ales!

Keep wirting, I'm thoroughly hooked. I can't wait.

Dan:cheers:

Not to be pushy.... but I need my fix :).
Best!!

Rust was abolished in the land of FJ40 and everyone rejoiced! Beer was made the national drink, and Jen was unnanimously voted Queen of FJ40ville. And they lived happily ever after...

Oh, and SeaKnight was knighted as a knight by Jen, and the land of FJ40ville rejoiced.

Whew... and I am spent.

Enjoy your fix.

Hey, I like your version of the story better than mine.

Sorry for the radio silence. Trying to deal with storm damage to the casa, which seems to eating most of my time. Fortunately no injuries and the old rustbucket was spared so all is good.

The Missoula chapter is in the incubator. Hope to have it posted later this week. Keep the faith.

Helping with crisis management is 400 Pound Monkey from Left Hand Brewing, same guys who make the great milk stout. :D
