What about 80 series high steer. Seems like I remember reading there was someone making arms?
Clint
Yes, we have hi-steer arms. I am just pointing out the technical issues not always apparent in web fabrication.

I have never seen one. When we checked into that the patterns overlapped and would not work. There are some 5 to 6 lug, but not on the 100 series bolt circle. Might be wrong.
The 105-Series chassis/frame is essentially the same as the 80-Series...

Was there a reason for not going with the high steer on your build? Sorry if I missed it. ClintYes, we have hi-steer arms. I am just pointing out the technical issues not always apparent in web fabrication.

Did you not read Christo's post? Let alone this thread? The 80 axles aren't up to the task.

We are starting a 100 SAS project ASAP, using 80 axles. Might even get some cummins power along the way....![]()
Haha damn you! That was my idea!!! But mine was a built 4bta with a 4L80e and stock tcase so I can run some decent power.Nice, Dave is a good guy, his new website, http://www.4plusproducts.com/home.html We are starting a 100 SAS project ASAP, using 80 axles. In my opinion the stock v8 vvt or not isn't up to par in my eyes for this heavy rig. A diesel gains more power plus better mpg than the stock v8. My idea isn't to spend 15k on a low mileage rig and chop it all up, I'm searching for a high mileage cheaper vehicle to start with. So, gonna put a solid axle under a 100, then swap the more desirable, in my opinion, 2UZ? Not that it matters, but I'm lost on the goal, here. Seems more rational to swap a 4BT in an 80...BUT I say get it on and give me a shout when selling the 2UZ.
Re-read Slee post - I read it as custom axles are stronger, easier to work with, and are not his business first choice. Many 80 axles out there run large tires and HP successfully. This thread is about SAS, any innovation to making it happen should be welcome. I look forward to all options of any kind and what JonesysOffroad, Rockjock, or anyone else comes up with.

X2. If its was PURELY about the 80 axles being able to handle the power/weight, I think we'd be seeing more of the 80 guys with S/C's, Turbo's, 4BT's or 2uz swaps with issues.
