I kept and painted the original doors because I'm a little bit of purist myself. With the 75 doors I like the look with the OEM panels and the window crank handle on the old doors always rub my knee. It was just in a bad place for me personally. Oh and at the time, there was no replacement "Bug Catcher" rubber which I needed badly. I can always interchange them. The tywrap is only temporary until I find an OEM lock. I know, wishful thinking. I do have a friend that has one though.

Did you reupholster your seats? Starting on mine this week and I'm wondering if you used a certain kind of adhesive to help hold the vinyl. When I disassembled mine it had an excessive amount of some sort of glue. Any ideas appreciated.

I had a friend do the work on the seats but I am almost certain that no adhesive was used. I did however use all new heavy duty foam with some closed cell foam as well. The old seats had burlap over the springs. We went another way with some very strong vinyl over the springs. I hope this helps.
Also, we matched the seat material with the OEM door panels.

I had the stock springs re-arched and I added an extra leaf up front to compensate for the weight of the factory winch. It raised the truck about a 2 inches. I wanted a level stance.

A few more things to put in and on! The small black cap goes on the inspection light receptacle inside the cab. I think this is one of those parts made from "Unobtainum".This is the only one I have seen. I still need to make a strap for the tool roll.

I haven't looked in my stash of inpection light sockets in this century, but I'm pretty sure I have sen a couple of those. Pretty rare.
Gorgeous truck BTW. I'll look forward to seeing it with the bugcatchers back on.

Thanks Mark, it will be awhile before I put the bugcatchers back on. I kinda like the newer style doors. Both sets of doors were in very nice condition and were put back together using all new OEM parts excluding the vent window of course.

Did you do the final assembly? I ask because my windscreen frame doesn't come back as far as it should, meaning there's a gap between the leading edge of the door and the windscreen frame. Because of this the above-door panel is tilted on an angle instead of parallel to the door top, and the rear of the door frame rubs on the rear windscreen panel.

First things first. Are the two halves of your windshield hinge parallell? If they are not, then you need to determine why. Replacement windshield base gaskets are often the culprit. If they are parallel, then I'd check that the A and B pillars are parallel. It's not impossible to tweak one of these cabs.

Cult45, I was not in on that part of the assembly. However I do know that there were not any alignment issues with any of the panels, windows or the top. I did use all OEM rubber and I do know that gasket under the window frame fit perfectly. If I had to guess, I'd look at the window to tub gasket like The other "Mark" suggested. Sorry that I could not be more helpful.
