I have a 18 gallon saddle tank and get many questions about it. There have been several threads, but not one place for info on these tanks, so I started this thread.

The tank I have came from AU and was made by the Brown Co. It was used and was imported many years back. With the saddle tank and the stock tank, I carry about 42 gallons of fuel.
I converted my 60 to diesel and have averaged 20.3 mpg over the last 30k miles of all types of driving, so I have a range of roughly 800+ miles.
My tank mounts along the inner frame rail on theright LEFT - DOH! side, and runs from the transfer case to the rear axle. I modified my existing fill location to allow me to fill both tanks by angling the fuel nozzle into the stock main pipe, or to the rear and into the pipe I added. It works well and is easy to fill and make. I had a muffler shop bend up a section of 1 1/4" pipe for me, which I welded to the stock fill pipe.
I use two 3 way manual tank selector valves to control the supply and return lines. I mounted the selectors in front of the drivers seat on the floor.
Take a look at the pictures and I will answer any questions I can
