you are making me not like my own junk anymore

Simply AMAZING....makes me wish I would have taken welding in shop class instead of woodworking...:crybaby:

Keep up the GREAT work!

All I can say is WOW:cheers:

Remember this Larry?

Man, I really wanted to build this clip for you guys.......

so Larry, the more i look at that body mount design.......you are basically hard mounting the body to the frame

typical mounts are cushioning the body to the frame on a horizontal plane by having an isolator (rubber or ply) sandwiched beween the 2 metal surfaces....looks to me like the body will basically be riding on the 2 horizontal bolts....ie metal to metal.

can you explain that idea a little more in detail?

my assumption was the red in the images are spring-eye type poly bushings....seems like it would allow for very minimal movement tho...and as stiff as the aluminum tub would be relative to the frame, I see some shear issues....

I'll also guess there is more to the structure than what's being let on right now ;)

The red things are bushings.

Wow. Wow. Wow.

That build table is impressive!

The only way to get one of those tubs square is to build a new frame. When Todd Yonkman did his, he had so many shims in his onld frame mounts getting it close to level.

I cannot wait to see this thing in the end....Great Work!

yeah, that's pretty much what i was guessing...............just when i glanced at the rendering for some reason i didn't get that.

Guys
They are poly bushings, correct. We machined alluminum sleeves which will be inserted into the 2x2 and 2x3 that they give you for mounts. The sleeves will then be TIG'd to the box mounts on the cab.

This should be alot stronger than a simple single shear mount PLUS it leaves my floor clean for cage:). I will have some pics up today as they are bent up and ready to go.

I am working on the connection of the front cowl to tub. Aqualu bolts it together with 4 bolts in the floor...which i want something stronger so I am drilling, countersinking, bucking and microshaving aircraft rivets at the overlap in a nice pattern....I have an AP w/Avionics and I have a sheetmetal fetish:grinpimp: so...it has to be sick. I will be posting pics soon...should have mounts done today hopefully.

Thanks for the props also

I have nothing to say that hasn't been said already. Its great to see the Canadian content too! NWF and Aquilu do very nice work. Check out Todd's truck at the Aquilu web site too. It was just featured in 4WD magazine.

Wow, this build is awesome.

Can you share the durometer on the poly bushings?

Medusa,
Honestly I don't know. They are spring eye bushings that were the right dimensions to fit into the existing box tube welded to the tub.
