Some things need to go to a professional. Like R&P set up ! 🤷‍♂️

I concur. My biggest fear trying to do my own R&P is ruining all the brand new parts trying to save a couple hundred bucks in labor.

I have a DIY philosophy that says I can probably screw things up about 2.5 times before I lose money. That said, I had time so I did the gear install myself. I ended up with a good pattern after 4-5 shim sessions. There's only one measurement that matters and that's the pinion depth. After that you set backlash to the factory tolerance and see how it looks. If it doesn't look right, you repeat by adding or removing shims. It's just time consuming but not difficult.

While I had it apart, I swapped out pinion bearings and I noticed the cheap carrier bearings supplied with the locker were showing lots of wear for only having 1500 miles on them. I replaced them with a quality brand.
