This is the fuse box in passenger side of foot well. Anyone have some insight on how to remove?

Thanks TM. Any idea of year that one is from?

Differently the top and bottom have nuts. I've bottom out and top loose. I look again for the side one, but it just may be the two.

Someone in mud must have pull one of these before.;) Mud always knows the work around!

If there is a way to do without pulling HVAC blower housing/air diverted stuff, I'd really like to hear about it.

I had Dealership do one for me in 2003. Cost $2K ($800 part) on my 2001LC. It was under warranty, which warranty work always cost factory less. Cost does indicate they pulled the HVAC blower housing stuff.

I can get two nuts off. Then 1st issue may be slipping out, which may be do able. But getting top nut back in would be near impossible without a special tool to reach in and thread back on at same time. It's very tight in there.

BTW: TM I didn't see the side nut. Just the top and bottom. Studs coming from body. They insert through reinforced holes in J/B box next to holes you've circled in blue.
This is from 06LC

Looking at PN# seems variation is year depended. Interestingly the 06-07 cost a faction of 2004 (only ones I checked).

I've only pulled out the driver's side junction block.... similar but the blower isn't in the way. I don't suppose you can access that top nut better after removing the glove box?

Nope! Had it and everything but air box out. Slipped my hand and 12mm gear-wrench in here.
Broke loose than spun with one finger (skinny hands).
I stop short of taking off. Once I realized I could not get back on by hand.

Yet one more bump. Seems nobodies around that has done this. May be know one in mud ever has!

If you take the top nut off... is there room to move the JB off the stud and slide it down?

IF so...then you could 'slot' the upper hole in the new JB slide it back into place and use a 'push nut' on the stud to hold it in place (assuming you can get your finger back in that space).

Interesting idea! Would need to try! Once part in hand. Which owner may do himself.

The slipping down may be issues. The back side has a block the protrudes into side cowl. So may find air box in the way.
Top stud may be a ground, which could complicate the idea bit. Slip on before is brilliant.

I saw in parts diagram listed three nuts. I only found the top and bottom.

I’m chasing down electrical issues with a circuit controlled by my gauge 2 fuse in this same location. The box appears to have some corrosion, so it’s got to come out. If you found any additional info, I’d appreciate hearing about it.

All I can say is they vary by year. A push nut or making a tool to get top nut back on, may work. But it must be secure as some years (may be all), it is a ground point. But unless some electrical issue you traced to it, why why pull it!

Anyone know how to get the cover off the fuse box in the passenger side footwell? Think I blew a fuse while replacing interior lights since they all stopped working.

There are variation in years. But all fuse box covers have a latch/catch, we push to release. In post #5 picture. The cover is black. Latch appears to be at end toward rear of vehicle. A very lite push on latch, as cover pulled off. No force needed!.

Thanks @2001LC - I'll take a look at it today.

Ok, here's what I'm looking at after removing the side moulding, 1999 LC passenger side. Looks like I just need to remove the black box which covers the fuses behind the tan box, pull out fuse #56 which is the fuse for the Dome or interior lights, and hopefully this will solve the no interior lights problem.

Ok, I am admitting partial defeat - not total defeat. Any suggestions on getting to the fuse box are certainly welcome.
