Cage welded up
Well, looks like the cage is 95% welded up....welded to the body in 16 different places.....should be stout. I'll weld some supports to the frame after everything is lined up and bolted to make sure it's final. Then I'll take it apart again and blast/powdercoat everything....

Soon. Got the 4L80E that I'm going to use with the vortec. There will be some progress in the next few weeks..... Motor/trans mounts. Stay tuned for pics....

Here we go......
Well, got some progress going. Decided to go with a 14" front shock, so removed the tubes we put on and removed all old motor/trans mounts getting ready for the 5.3/4L80E to go in. The way we're setting it up, it should have 16" of travel up front. Going to loose the tube links and make some sick plate arms with a bend to get max ground clearance. The rear is going to be linked also. Loosing the springs. Won't have as much travel, but enough for some fun. Stay tuned for more pictures. This is now on the clock, so it'll be worked on during the days, not just spare time nights.......Trying to decide on 35" or 37". The 37's will rub in the rear pretty bad, but ......... probably 35's.

Cage work
Getting the cage finished up. I'll need to get the seats in it so we can put in the harness bars behind them. Going with 4 nice buckets. More to come. This thread will be on the first page for a while I hope....

Starting to mock up the 5.3/4L80E setup. Ordered the Advanced Adapter for the splitcase today. Need to get the body in it's position before we can tack up any mounts for motor. Thinking of a 1" body lift so I can raise the motor/tranny up a tiny bit for more belly clearance....?? More to come...

Looks good! Think about bolting up you exhaust manifolds, now. I had to use block huggers, so they fit between the frame rails. Tight fit.
