Build Resto-mod on my 55 has begun

Cage work......

Well, we got the two runners tacked in and the front cross tubes around windshield in with two handles....gonna be cool... looks cool with 39" tires...but not going that big.

That is a "one off" for sure! You are gonna get the looks when you roll in that car. How are you gonna paint with the roll cage in there?

The Roll Cage is getting painted with the body. The cage will be welded to the body all over the place. It will make the whole body a stronger rig....Since I cut the roof off and rear pillars, the body got kinda weak and created some cracks. Those are gone and never to return....

Wow that looks cool! Making me seriously consider finding one to chop the top off. Always loved the top off feel of a 40, but really love the doors and space in the 55's. Thanks for keeping the thread going!

Cage 90% done

Well, we got almost all the cage in. Just the harness bar behind front seats and a couple supports in roof and rear sides.

Ordered my gauges today. Going with some marine gauges. A GPS speedo should be pretty sweet.....no cable or tire size issues. I've got the GPS speedo, Tach, volt, oil, water and fuel on the way. Gonna do a custom dash. I'll post up some pics when I get it started....
