My white '93 4-Runner 4WD V-6 5-speed with New Mexico plates was stolen from the Target parking lot (vanpool parking) @ Paseo del Norte and I-25 sometime today, Thursday July 6th, between 4:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. I'd appreciate if MUD members can be on the lookout for the vehicle and/or parts. If you find out anything that may be of help please call the Albuquerque police department. My son is filing a police report any time now. Thanks.

Bummer! Sorry to hear that; hope you get it back.

Sorry to hear that!!

I hate to ask... But, are you sure it was stolen and not simply towed?

I had my car towed from the Target parking lot in Colorado Springs about 46 years ago... From an area that was used for carpool parking... I was working 12 hour shifts at Cheyenne Mountain and was dropped off to no car. No one ever told us it was towed. I finally tracked it down.

Hopefully, Target doesn't do that any more, but I'll never trust them again.

Might be worth checking...

Will do, thanks for the tip. I don't recall the first 3 numbers of the plate, but ends in NFM. We're in Nevada until tomorrow afternoon, and my son doesn't have a copy of the title or registration. It has the light blue/silver pinstripes, and there's a large rip/hole in the rear pillar sheet metal upper drivers side. The catalytic converter was cut out of the exhaust years ago at his house off Girard and Santa Clara, and I replaced it with a section of pipe, so it sounds much louder than stock.

A photo would help those guys in the area that are looking if you have one.

There were Target stores 46 years ago!? Sheesh

Good suggestion - tomorrow evening I'll have access to some photos I took when he followed us in the 4-Runner into the Maze District of Canyonlands National Park.

That sucks! I hope you find it.

It looks like this 4-Runner:

Not mine, but same aluminum wheels and about the same size tires. Mine has BFG 31X10.50R15 ATs.

Man, sorry to hear that.

Oh yes, we had Target, Vietnam, protestors, Nixon and the constant risk of thermonuclear war... Same as it ever was, same as it ever was.

But, this is a serious thread...

@4Cruisers make sure it wasn't towed... The circumstances are very similar to my experience... I parked around 4:30am, caught my carpool, returned at about 7pm, no car, spent hours assuming it was stolen, reported it stolen and the cop contacted several tow yards and found it in one about 50 (seems like it anyway) miles from the Target parking lot.

I was a newlywed, USAF buck sergeant, clearing about $100 every two weeks... Had to use rent money to pay the impound.
