With the lathe I was finaly able to finish the shape on the bead roller dyes for the bib.
Here is the upper rol on the bib profile.

Both rolls on each other.

Tested the dyes and found that I needed to tilt the lip first before running the beads.
Here is the bead on a test peace.

The dyes must be polished before final use.

Holes cut and the first lip folded. Used a tipping dye to make the first tip over. Next clamped the piece in the vice with a piece of wood and hammered the lip in the correct shape.

Now how it is done.
First I tipped the edge with the tipping wheel on a skateboard wheel in the bead roller.

Next clamp and hit with a hammer, first the straight edges and then the corners.

Next fit to approximate size, with regular test fitting.

Defenetly not happy with the profile. Decided to use this as a template to make another one.
Need to adjust the profile and richten the corners on the inside.

I like the grippers, they work realy well. Easy to position and they keep the sheet as they were tacked together.

I appreciate you detailing all of this. I never had a clue how panels were shaped. Now I have a small understanding. Great to learn about new things. I'm not about to attempt it as my focus only lasts a short amount of time, unfortunately, but mucho kudos to you.

Thanks.
I have problems with focussing on one thing too. That is why I change to different parts of the car all the time.
On the other hand I Don’t want to create something that I will be doing again at the end because it iritates me for being off.

Working on the shop at the moment, adding lights and sockets for the lathe area and adding stuff to the lathe.
When this is done I will continue with the bib.

Wow, nice attention to detail. I build scale flying rc aircraft in my not so spare time. Very tidy work in my opinion. Keep it up!
