As there was nothing left to use as a template I used the upper rail as a reference for my contour gauge.

Then I bolted the inner piece to the rear bumper, mounted the top rail with magnets and clamps.
To find the correct position of the end of the curve I used strings to clamp the gauge in place.
An old piece of laminaten was then used to draw the shape which I then cut with my band saw.
 
Not sure I get what LAD is, but the results look good. I first read it as lamentation aided design which I think is closer to my design method.

Laminate is the name for the fake wooden floorboards, instead of cardboard I used left over floorboards as a template.

How are you going to protect the inside support where it meets the outer skin from being bare metal against bare metal so it wont rust?
I’m going to create water release holes an coat before welding.
After spotwelding the seals wil be sealed and the inside coated with wax.

wel not much happened on the 40, busy with work, vacation and the ever growing honey do list.

Wow! That came out fantastic. I need to stop traveling and get back to mine.
Me too, this was the first chance I got to do something in almost two months.
