Rear window regulator problem (1 Viewer)

This little nub broke off clean from the bottom of the channel that holds the glass. I’ve tried welding it but the weld doesn’t stick. My knowledge of welding is limited, but it feels like this isn’t regular steel and so it’s not melting together. I’ve tried coming up with a bolt together substitute from ace hardware but am striking out. Should I take this to a welder who knows what to do or do any of you have a suggestion?

Clean it down to bare metal and weld it again. Pretty sure the're welded in to begin with .

If you can't weld it up, I may have a few Fj55 connections in your area.

Does the little rod and metal strip go together as shown?. Do they connect to the limiter on the right and the lever on the left where the spring is attached? I have not seen any pics on this particular connection? I know this is an old thread, but didn't see a reply to the question posted...
