Not too hard to make one out of some heavy wall tubing. Heck of alot stronger, also.
On mine, I sleeved all the holes, so I could bolt up a swing out or pull a trailer, without worrying about anything bending.

If you are not a "purist", but want something that looks closer to stock, any good steel fab shop can bend the pieces you need. Just take in your old parts so they get the overall dimensions right. You can bolt or weld it all back together. The only challenge (if you are inclined) is the two dips in the top flange of the rear cross member. They really only provide clearance for the OEM rivets, so if you're welding it in place you won't need them. I just put a small piece of filler metal between the frame and channel.
You can finish the ends to accommodate the early or late tail light mounts or go for a custom look. I've done this several times and never paid over $100 for the pieces, most of the time I am able to find stock from the 'rem' rack to save some extra money.

Used to but very little interest. Kind of how most of the 40 parts are going. Unfortunately 40's are increasingly becoming museum pieces. We need a new influx of 40 owners that want to use them for what they were intended before the aftermarket on them completely dries up

I've actually seen some increased interest from people looking for the simplicity of older rigs while still being able to add some modern features like EFI, locking differentials and four wheel disk brakes.
There are no more FJ40 salesmen, except for FJ40 owners. So, it's up to FJ40 owners to 'talk up' their passion when people show an interest their rigs. Tell them why YOU own one, it may be the same reason they're interested in looking at yours, all they need is a little motivation.
I bought one off ebay a couple months ago. There is someone that sells a repro thats pretty decent on there. Landcruiserparts was the seller. I have it mounted already. I did not get the gussets but I believe they sell them.

Real steel cruiser makes them. They are on ebay. They sell a lot of useful pieces.

I talked to JROD. I'll fire up another run of ten. We were building them from 3/16", quite a bit heavier than stock. Ten should probably last a year

I had to replace mine a few years ago. I found a cruiser scrap yard that sold me a complete rear section cut off of a junked 40. We took plenty dimensions prior to cutting, cut off the old section, and welded on the new section. We added doubler plates and fully boxed the frame while doing the work.

To the OP, Cruiser Solutions has the rear X-member and diagonals pre-bent that are very close to OEM dimension, just a little heavier than stock.
