So I went and changed the pinion oil seal forgot to check the rear diff breather tube- it looks clogged. How do I go about fixing it

remove the check valve on the end of the hose and clean it
the hose should be clear but it can be removed from the axle and blown thru to check

It’s a one way valve. Air can escape but not flow in. It may look clogged- but maybe it isn’t

Get some vacuum hose and run it up to the firewall.

This! That clogged breather is probably why you had to replace the pinion seal. I've seen it before. Run tubes up from both diffs and the transfer case and cap them with a fuel filter or something similar. Trail Taylor sells a nice kit that looks much more tidy.

yes make sure it’s able to work. mine clogged and took out an axle seal which took out my rear brakes which made my front brakes work harder warping the rotors. that’s a lot of head ache and cost for such a simple little under maintained part. now i run open line to the firewall like others have said. unless you go through water to your windshield you’ll be good!!
