Went to a guy that I wanted to do some dent removal on the doors and found out that the outside skin had been sandblasted and was all stretched out :(, hence if you leaned up against the door it would it would pop in and stay there. I would need to pull of the inner door panel to push it back out. He says that it need to be shrunk back. Didn't know anything about stuff like that!

In the meantime while I figure out what to do with that dilemma I started getting the felt and squeegee made up. Not too bad and looks pretty good. On the felt- I peeled up the felt, put in the clips and the glued the felt back down. It came up pretty easily from the silver side and then after applying the glue I restuffed it back under the silver crease.

By the way anyone know how to get the smilies to work. I tab on them like before, but now they don't want to work.

Xtiaan2000,

I haven't gotten to the weatherstripping yet, but where did you get the felts from?

My smiles went away also.

I'll have to do some research for a number, but I got them from JCWhittney. It looks pretty tough and snaps on tight.

weird. the one i typed didn't work, the one i clicked did. :meh:

I believe the part was 7511 Saginaw Scout. I got it from Gonzo55. He was the only one where I could find it. I went on the waiting lists for various parts stores, but then put on a waiting list- To no avail.

I found this guy to shrink the outside skin of the doors and do some small other fixes. His shop was incredible.

Turns out that the felt I had gotten was too short. The top silver bead landed about a 1/4" below the top edge of the window. I got another one coming to try out hopefully it will be better. Its coming from metro molded parts. The number is wc 4-96. <a href="http://metrommp.com/productimages/640/WC496.jpg" target="_blank">

7511 is the Scout steering box # the sag pump I got from the parts store. Just ask for a pump for a 76 Chey 1/2 ton PU . Works good.

Woops not the box but the pump. Orangefj45 has the pump and all the other goodies if you want to go with the one stop.

slow progress

Kinda on hold right now because the doors are being worked on by a pro. I guess he is shrinking the outside skins due to an overzelous sandbalster by the PO. Hopefully he won't take a month to get them done!

Got a surprise picture the other day!!

Can you guess who is doing the work?

Oh my gosh! It took a month to get the work done! I didn't really mind cause I could go down and check out the artistry of his work on some pretty amazing vehicles.
So I got them back and now - Inside and some of the outside Por15'ed.
Finished the felts and squegees
Welded the door seal rubber channels in
So many little things left. Gonna hang them to see if they still fit right. Then it's on to the bondo and paint, dynamat type deadener, box out the body side of the latch, paint, fix the window regulators, and complete the Bear Claw linkages and whatever else comes up. Then I gotta take this thing out wheeling!!!

Looks good. Getting some work done on it! How did the felts work out? Did you order the new size ones?

Yea. I am stoked when things move along. The felts seem to have worked out. I will have to see when I put them in for the last time. I will post some pics for sure. The ones I used are listed in post 433.
