Rear axle bearing help. (8 Viewers)

So I had some oil leaking out the driver side rear axle so decided to throw new seals and bearings on both side. The picture below was the driver side. I am fairly certain I need a new axle with this wear. It has definitely worn a ridge into it.

Just wanted some other's thoughts and options.

Speedi sleeve where the bearing rides? I know of them for seals but not as a bearing race.

1000% Replace that bearing and axle shaft, those are both roached.

You absolutely need a new axle. Or you need to have someone weld it up and turn it down.

You know, reading it back the "coat of paint" should have tripped it for me. Haha. I have already replaced the bearing but noticed the axle as I was inserting it back in. I appreciate the feedback boys.

FWIW, the axle bearing journal should be as smooth as the inside bore of the new bearing. That'll give you a good indication of what the surface requirement is.

Sounds good! Now to source a decent machine shop or a replacement axle. Not sure what is harder now in days.
