I have Marlin Crawler axle seals. Seems I have two variations. Can anyone say whether one is better than the other. It could be generational. I’d call and ask but long weekend and I’m putting together today. Hoping for input. Second question. A presumption they work on rear FF axle as well but thought I’d ask. Fronts more important as brand new RCV axles go in as well today.

I've only ever seen (and used) the top ones, with the orange sealant band, for axles. They've worked very well.

Looking on MC website, it shows the all-black ones as HD Rear Transfer case output seal... 🤷‍♀️

Weird I bought them directly from MarlinCrawler as I was there visiting, but it was several years ago.
Geez, wonder how I got them mixed up? Not to mention I'm fairly less likely to be building transfer cases than axles
Its a holiday that's why the thread, no way to call and verify direct. I didn't go thru the website
I wonder if they are open tomorrow? Thanks as always for your help. J

I did go thru the MC site. That transfer case seal isn't what I've got. Mine has the same alloy ring as the proper axle seals.
I'll just bag 'em up and see what I can find.

Nailed it! I have 2 of their kits but normal seals in them. Hmm, wonder where I got these then? LOL.
The Trail Gears are what I put in today. The last set had hard miles on them, I just pulled them cause new axles.
I guess I'll get just as good mileage out of the second set.

I'm sure they both work well. It's the double-lip that matters. OE only has one.
