Recently pulled the rear axle to do new bearings, seals, etc. and when I did it seems like the top gear in the differential moved. Or it doesn’t seem to want to line up so I can put the shaft back up through.

Any tips or what the heck did I do / not doing?

The two spider gears (smaller gears top and bottom) move together. Take the shaft out. If the top gear is too far into the diff housing, the bottom gear needs to be out a similar amount towards you. Then turn one of the side gears and it will feed the two spider gears into place together.

Got it - thank you!
