Sorry to hear about the Tom Cat - we definitely enjoyed the food at the meeting.

My parents had a 1974(?) Peugeot 504 station wagon when I was growing up. Learned to drive on that thing.
I had an 89 505 STX. Cool car extraordinarily reliable. Sold it in 2009 with around 250000 miles on it. Once it broke in, it ran like a top.

We purchased a ‘91 Peugeot 505 from a college professor with 125,000 miles on it. Traded it in for a Land Rover Discovery at Rentschlers Garage in Reading when it had 325,000 miles on it. They shipped it to Africa where it probably is still running today.
The 80s/90s Peugeots are the only vehicle that we have found to match Land Cruisers for durabilty & reliabilty.

Definitely not closed, closing. They update Facebook almost daily. It is for sale though, however they do not need to sell it.

The two issues with the 504 station wagon were rust and total lack of power with an automatic. Learned to pop rivet and fiberglass to pass annual inspections and it probably kept me out of a heap of trouble as a teenage driver, though!

It was passed on to my sister when she started driving and she killed it taking it over a 12" curb. The passenger side front wheel assembly was under the passenger seat when she came to a stop. She went on to kill my mother's Jetta, the car she t-boned with the Jetta, a car she borrowed from her professor, her boyfriend's Explorer, the BMW she hit with the Explorer, ... Well... You get the idea...

I recently saw that they had a "truck" version of the 504 - even with a 4x4 option!

I had an 89 STX, great car. 190,000 on it when I sold it in 2002 and was still running great.

Surprising amount of love for Peugeot! I had no idea they were so reliable. My family had an 89 Renault (imported by Eagle) Medallion Wagon and it was a complete dumpster fire. Even brand new the cooling system couldn’t handle 90+ degree days. I have memories as a ~5-6 year old of my mom using my brother’s diaper to pull the radiator cap on the side of the road to add water after it overheated at a red light. On a vacation to N.C. part of the wiring harness melted to the engine and shorted the whole car. I think it’s the only car my family bought new and kept for less than 75,000mi. Sounds like we picked the wrong French car.

Had Rich (Rics4runner) and his son Ryan out last weekend aboard the Chaser my 1989 21’ Mako. We hit a spot about 17 miles out pot hopping with live bait. Fishing was excellent every pot was loaded with Mahi. The guys scored a Bull/Cow double header. Ryan got the bull casting a yozuri topwater then Rich got the cow sightcasting a live peanut bunker to the lit up fish! Great visual feeds! Here’s some picture:

Hit the flea market this morning, and found this awesome little "hippie bus" for my older daughter.

She's been collecting them for about ten years. I think I've bought every one she has at flea markets or yard sales...

$1 well spent.

I got curious about what the newest LC redesign might look like, so I googled "2022 Land Cruiser". Most of the results had to do with LC being discontinued in North America in 2022! What!? Is this true?

It's still rumor at this point.. but very likely toyota might use the LC nameplate on something else while Lexus carries on the luxury cruisers..
