Will Van
GOLD Star
The R151F transmission I am most familiar with is the Turbo trans that came in the 1986 and 1987 Turbo Pickups. This trans has a bellhousing that mounts to the 22R(E)(T) series engines and a tailhousing that mounts to the RF1A gear-driven transfer cases commonly found in the 1979 - 1995 Pickups. And it has the more desirable 4.313:1 1st gear ratio for rockcrawling.
But I understand that the R151F also came mated to:
Land Cruiser:
Hilux/Pickup:
4Runner/Surf/Prado:
Do any of these other trucks use the RF1A gear-driven transfer case? Or is the R151F/RF1A combo only found on the 1986 and 1987 Turbo Pickups?
Thanks in advance!
