One of today’s projects, two patches under the truck.

First one is a cap made to replace a bad repair at the back of the LHS rocker. While I had this open I completely coated the inside of the rocker with POR15.

The next one, I found some tiny rust holes here behind the back RHS body mount. As I dug deeper I decided to just replace the whole area. I am retaining the drain in the patch piece I have made.

Setting up yesterday and starting to play with measurements and the front suspension I discovered the first issue to overcome. I think I have read about it on here, anyways the radius arm mount is going to want to land partially on the trans crossmember mounts. It is not all of it though, in other words they don't have to occupy the same spot, just share it! Going over options, #1 I can cut off the trans crossmember mount and modify it, #2 I can move the front axle forward (don't like this for panhard reasons), #3 I can modify the radius arm mount, #4 I can fab some things from scratch or look for a different radius arm mount. I did notice the 80-series is using a smaller less bulky mount frame side for the radius arms.

I think I am going with #3. It is not very bad work wise, seems about the easiest to me. I only need to gain about 2.5" and I see no issues with what I have in mind compromising strength.

Rear washer has never worked in this truck. Tested it, motor is dead. Here is a replacement motor I have that works. Grommet for tank though is shot and leaks so I need a new one.

Oh ya, stripped the sealer back a bit in the wheel wells and resealed them. I will be coating the wheel wells as well.

Much cheaper than buying the full assembly.

Not sure how well you can see it in this pic but the old blower motor certainly shows it’s age. Brushes replaced not long ago though.

Not worried about the runs here, I will be coating it all. I also coated the insides of both rockers this morning. I used a dabber on a long stiff wire through the large access holes and a syringe to squirt paint in holes.

What’s the part number for the coil thing on the blower? I know that’s on my list as well.

LHS door accutuator works but is not up to my standards so ordered one up to replace it.

As I begin reassembly of the interior I am installing some new wires for power ports. Center console and on either side of the Front Runner drawers. I want these hot 24/7.

All wiring connections after cleaning get this.

A while back I tried to source a drivers side door outside door handle (in your first picture) for my 93 PZJ75 and was not able to locate one in the US.
Where did you locate yours?
If I cannot find one locally; I will look at Australia and Partsouq.

Partouq is where this one came from.

Dash going back together, I am very happy with the results.

Since this truck never had a heater it lacked the side vent hoses.

Like I say, some 24/7 hots for various USB & cig lighter ports. The 10g is for the cig lighter, client has an Engel he will use in the truck from time to time. Ran all the wire in loom with the main harness while I had access to it.

70-series consoles.....

Not much out there. Personally I dislike the stock console. No cup holders, not high enough to rest your arm, rattles and not much storage space.

The Aussies don't want to sell me any of their consoles. Even after telling them I can modify no probs for LHD vs RHD, they still refuse. I actually have had this a lot with the Aussies in the last 5+yrs. IE, they not wanting to sell products to us yanks. A decade ago it was no problem, now they don't seem to want to ship much over here. Any ways, whatever....

We are going to give this a try in the PZJ70. I am concerned quality is not up to par but we are going to try it anyways.

PPaccesories Toyota Land Cruiser 70/71/73/75/78 series ground console (2 cups)

In the future I plan to get a design or two going for consoles and make them myself. Some local friends have a shop where they can make just about anything. They are Toyota guys and one owns a Cruiser so no worries. They are going to make @TonyP a custom one off for his Troopy with 6spd auto.

Cheers
