You gonna go with any kind of extra-latchy hood latches to do what you're doing?
I installed secondary hood latches before our first race in 2023 The MINT 400. It basically consist of a couple of holes drilled in the apron and some tie wire. Passed Tech LOL

Taking a few days off for a camping and wheeling trip in the 40. Excited the Bonneville 45 fuel cell arrived

Update : Going camping kind of slowed things down a bit. I needed a break. The 45 is still completely torn apart Springs should be done tomorrow, engine should be back together by Saturday, rear axle needs to get buttoned up, rear lower blocks need to be made, bed cover ,build front air dam, install new fuel cell, install front windshield, and still test everything to see if my steering geometry is going to work LOL Other than that we are on track.

No times are solid just a guesstimate.

September 3rd: trailers, cones & sign boards, in the afternoon tech inspectors will walk the pits for anyone that is ready

4th: official tech inspection opening day

5th: morning drivers meeting, rookie orientation, and then racing starts around 10am(?) until 5-6pm everyone off the salt by 7pm

6th: impound runs first to back up records at around 8am then race until 5-6pm everyone off by 7pm.

7th: impound runs first to back up records at around 8am then race until 5-6pm everyone off by 7pm.

8th: impound runs first to back up records at around 8am then race until roughly 1pm depending on how many teams are still there and then we pack up

Bonneville schedule. We will be arriving on the Salt Sept 4th setting up pits and going through Tech. We get 6 runs over 3 days. With Cruiserfest going on at the Land Cruiser Heritage Museum Sept 6th we will be making to following runs Sept 5 - 2 Speed runs, Sept 6 - 1 Speed run, Sept 7 - 3 Speed runs. This allows us to complete all 6 runs over 3 days .Following our morning run on Saturday we will make our way to Salt Lake city and enjoy a day visiting Cruiserfest 2025. I am Greaful for everyone coming out to help and support what we are doing. I also feel its a Great opportunity for everyone to enjoy the chance to visit the Museum.

I picked up the new front springs Friday. Like everything I have done on the 45 there is a lot of guess work. After getting everything mocked up I realized the springs are not stiff enough, So I am going to have to add leaf's and get things fine tuned. Its a major time killer right now the front end has to be locked in before I can get the rear lowered. Everything else is coming together. I really hope to have the 45 driving by next weekend.

Cooler fuel means dense fuel + Horsepower. Retrofitted oil bath air cleaner will be our fuel cooling can. Mounts to the factory mount on the head and as a added bonus I have added a Bluetooth smoker meat thermometer which will read the temps inside the cooling can and the engine compartment. Next level racing and we are one step closer to Bonneville

Needs a sticker on it that says Can of Worms ;)
@rockcod said it looked like Jiffy pop popcorn, I'll slap a Summit racing sticker the lid and we should be good with Tech

This is gonna work, small bag of ice for testing, Bluetooth Meat thermometer reads inside the cool can and the engine bay temps

If your front diff housing is full of all the trinkets you're going to carry, maybe you can put some mini bar whiskey or tequila, or Coca-Cola or something in the cool can to go 200 MPH!! :p

Man if looks were Horsepower we would be off the charts. Everything in the engine compartment has a purpose and its coming together. I am just about done with the rear axle, springs and brakes, rear driveshaft is installed. Today has been a Great day.

I want to Thank @cruiseroutfit for posting this camping map. I have a lot of messages asking what we need or what to bring. Honestly this is all new to all of us. This has been a big undertaking. So much on the 45 has been rebuilt, re designed or replaced. We are just focused on getting there. We leave Sept 2nd. @rockcod will be towing the 45, I will have my truck, camper and towing the Corolla (pit car I am on the fence on that one ) Camper is approved to be staged in our pits No overnight camping in it. I am doing this for anyone who may have issues with the heat to go in take a break ( AC will be on all day ) What to bring. water, sunscreen, chairs any extra pop ups for shade, personal food, snacks. I am open to any ideas maybe grill some dogs and bratts for lunch Friday in the pits. I am expecting Friday to be pretty busy and exciting. Wendy and I can't Thank everyone enough for all the Support. Again Saturday our Goal is make an early morning run then anyone who wishes drive to SLC for Cruiserfest. Sunday finish our remaining runs. Red star is staging and pits, Green area is public land for camping
