Don't get me wrong here. Im just putting a bumper on the thing and a cool winch just in case. I'm not wheeling the thing hard as I have a 97 4runner for that. I will end up using the vehicle but not abusing it. How cool would it be to run into a BJ43 Rag in the trails having fun with the family:D

Take care,
P

Another voice .. here that said .. wou .. ! B E Y O T Y F U L L .. !!!!

what a clean Cruiser ..

P.S. from a ex porshe owner ... day and night ..

not a problem, i have a complete factory system in excellent shape sitting here on the shelf. i can even install it for you if you want.
(they will not allow you to register a vehicle in Ontario without heat, ask me how i know)

you are begining to make me relax, i was begining to picture unimog axles and 53" boots...

i wouldn't go so far as to say "no good" just i wasn't happy with the kit and fit. on a ride like that a factory setup is mandatory... well to me it is.

Vintage air is not good:frown: Help me find heat for the kids and the doggy!

LMAO, that would be....cool....

Let Wayne take care of your new awesome ride. And please please, garage it and never go out in the winter...

If i would have bought this truck, i would put a OME 255/85, a turbo and thats it and next summer get the wife and kid in and take 10 days off and drive down to SNT.

EDIT: Totally forgot, OEM power steering setup and Heater. All that would probably be around 6-7K and you'd have IMO the coolest ride.

Think I have everything in order for the vehicle pickup. Any one want to ride to the US with me :) I hate long drives alone but can't wait to pick this little beast up. I am going to remove those wheels and he is giving me the steelies!

Hope to have heat in her before the 10 plate exp.

I'll keep everyone posted and would be happy to let any forum member take her for a spin to the local abandoned gold mine:flipoff2:

Take care,
P

i am always up for a trip. i have a couple things on my plate to take care of, post up when you are heading down and i will see if i can make it happen.
i have a dodge and a 24' float that i use to deliver customers vehicles. last delivery was a HZJ40 to San Francisco last month.
if we can make it happen great, if not enjoy the run down and back.
cheers

Hey crusher I am heading South from Suds round 5pm Sunday night driving past the TO area around 8:30. I am driving our 2008 2500GMC with a float trailer. You are welcome to join for sure:D I'll pay for lodging and food!

I'm taking the Icon wheels off and they will be for sale. The Steels will be put back on but I'm having trouble finding a set of Skinny old school looking tires for the beast. I also would like some recommendations as to how I can attach a Winch on the original bumper. I've searched and don't like the look of the new arb on such a cool old school vehicle.

Please let me know,
P

ARB are s***, and i don't mean "the s***z". they are tin bumpers that are mass produced to the masses.
i have a couple recommendations to consider.
if the rims are 16" then i have a set of Land Cruiser original "Jeep service tires" sitting here that are brand new (and that gives it the "old school" look.
not sure if i can wrap everything up by then but if i get this truck up and running then i might be able to go...
what is the schedual?
day run, 2 days, more?
cheers

If those tires fit I'll get them mounted when we do the heat:D

Please send me any ideas you have for bumpers as I'm new to this Land Cruiser thing.

Leaving Sunday night and looking to pick the Land Cruiser up on Monday some time. If I have two drivers we should be back at the boarder round 830am Tuesday. Crossing as Sarnia as the the Customs brokers say its the best border to cross.

I'd love an old school looking winch on this thing,
P

Wayne is just using you to get close to your BJ43. You're like the '43's chubby girlfriend.
:flipoff2:

ummm, last time i crossed at Sarnia the guards were total asses///going both ways. but you really don't have a lot of choice.

have your papers in hand and you need to give the Canadian 3 day notice by fax including serial number, purchase price and the original title...

oh man, you aren't sticking one of those POS winches on that truck are yah?

the ONLY winch for a 40 series is the 8274-50

sold by manafre and modified by me...
i actually found it very well built for the money...
