Working on an outdoor shower . I’ve had a proper floor drain for almost year and a half, but other projects have kept me away from this one until recently.
Drilled six holes in the patio deck, installed rebar and cast the base last month. Just cast the pan yesterday.

The overflow pipe in the foreground will be covered by a raised deck in a privacy changing area.😉

My in laws have an outdoor shower and bath at their cabin on an island and they swear by it. My wife wants me to make her something, but I just wonder how much it would get used.

I have enjoyed them enough elsewhere to want one of my own. But in a suburban setting, in a neighborhood filled with deciduous trees, I have walked into this project knowing it’s going to be an ongoing challenge.

Only time will tell if it is actually a net benefit. But I have decided to find out.😉

Oh, the problems of addiction....

Drove five hours (each way) to feed the monkey again. I'd been looking for the 3 drawer intermediate box for a few years. Most of them were really far away. This one popped up outside Chicago. It was part of a three box stack that the owner was selling. When I messaged him, I offered to buy the middle (or intermediate) box, but he wanted to try and sell the whole stack together. I told him, if he ever changed his mind, I'd give him a pretty good price for the box. Didn't hear anything for two weeks, kept checking and the stack was still listed.

Out of the blue on Tuesday, he messages and said he'd take $xxx.xx for the box, I replied: Deal. I'll pick it up tomorrow after 2 pm.

Here's the box:

Craftsman only offered these (two and three drawer) intermediate boxes for a couple of years. From what I've researched it was sometime in the mid-70's. There are no date of mfg stamped into them. This has the correct logo, lock, and keys. Even came with the same type of drawer liner I have been using in all the boxes. It's going to get a quick wipe-down, and added to the line.

Which leaves only three boxes left to find. And two of them (12 drawer top/11 drawer lower), are really going to be pricey, if I ever find them for sale..

I’d like this, $600?! Full of tools, but I don’t need tools.

Just saw this locally.
No way in hell would I pay $100 for that. Maybe $10 for possible parts.

Depending on what upper box, it might be worth the asking price.

$500 is too much. Looks to be in nice shape, but nothing highly desirable. Probably offer $200-$250 for it.

Do you also have to management runoff from a roofline so close to property line (I see gutters and downspouts in the background)?
I have jealous of moar attic insulation... well, ANY insulation up yonder ;) 🥵

lol, the Wall of Craftsman or the Hall of Craftsman? 😍;)
Yeah, either is a good name. If you'd ask my wife, she's got an entirely different name for it. But not PG rated.
Your kid(s) will need tools. 👍
Not at my age (72). My son is 42, he's got more tools than I have. Now my three grandsons: 12, 7, 6... They might need some in the future.

When I was building my friend new trusses for her roof a few years ago, my helper did that!😱
F60EA856-6ECE-40FF-8DA3-C49B206C8E17.jpeg

As for the blown in insulation, one of my cousins did that in his 30s. He said he had to sign a disclosure/disclaimer that you could only spend six months total in that industry.

Yeah, that's a nice stack, I'd like to find another 3 drawer+bay. And I would jump at another intermediate box (either 2 or 3 drawer). The 10 drawer tops are fairly easy to find. At $600, the seller is way, way too high. The most expensive component, is the 3 drawer intermediate box. Probably $200-$250, just for that, depending on logo and lock. The tools are probably all the junk that's remains after the good stuff was removed. I'd probably try to buy it, without the tools, for $300-$350
So they said they would take $300 for the whole setup minus the tools. I’m trying to decide if I should drive 2.5hrs one way to get it. I actually was looking for a large vintage box even before seeing yours. It’s the ladies dads and he’s selling it. So probably one owner for whatever that’s worth.
I’ll probably try to go next week. I want to replace my HD tool chest.
