I would take Treeroot and Dahondagods offer up if I were you..

Chris knows what he is doing with body work..

DeHondaGod only lives a few (50) miles from my place.

You can drive or trailer your rig to De indaGods and crash up here and sleep in a bed between welding repairs.

Or

You can drive or trailer your rig to my place and If DeHondaGod is willing to come to my place (he can bring his own welder) he can crash here if you want to do the work here.

I only have a miller 180 Mig.

Gene, GET THAT FLOOR!!!! Thats the exact thing I have pictured in my mind to build for yours, I had no idea that they are available like that already!!!

Dan, we can work at your place if thats cool, closer for Gene and more room than I have. (Besides, we can wheel at your place if needed)

Sounds good.

If anybody is wondering: Andres food more than looked good. It was delicious!

Glad to see that the exhaust pic made it up here Gene! It cracks me up to no end still!

I've got a pic or two for Georg, hopefully I remember to e-mail them to him. :)

Chris and Dan can borrow my mini tig to weld the floor in.

Way to go!!

I just wanted to say, "way to go!" to everyone that is assisting Gene with this project. I inadvertantly met Gene in my neighborhood and got a first-hand look at the old LV and the new project that is under way. It is great to see that everyone here is giving of themselves to aid in the success of this project.

Again, Gene, I wanted to offer my assistance in whatever capacity I can. Hopefully you have gotten your welder by now and are getting some practice in.

Is this thing on the road yet or what!
sure hope the project is still rolling along. Gene might need another work session soon. I just think this time it should be in the midwest so I can hang and help.

No, but that's by choice. I got the gas tank back from being repaired about a week ago. I haven't installed it yet because there's a bunch of crap welded to the frame just behind it that I want to cut off before I send sparks flying in that direction.

I've been extremely busy with work and family, but by the middle of next week I should have the front of the frame touched up and the body work done and painted from the windshield forward. Gonna try to get the dash, front door jambs, and front doors painted and installed by Aug. 17th. From there I've gotta install the windshield, side view mirrors you sent me, and gas tank, buy two more new tires, install the rear doors as they were, throw my old carpet kit in the back to cover up the raccoon piss, lube it up and go over it from front to back with Mark and hopefully be able to make the 45Run.

I was pounding out the fender that Butch gave me and spreading the bondo on it today and my next door neighbor walked up and said, "You know, I think this one is going to be better than the first one." I agreed. It all ready is thanks to all of you, but even the body is going to turn out better. I'm jonesin' to drive it, but I want to get a few things finished first.

By the way Eric, I found a local paint supplier that will mix up any custom color you want and stick it in a spray can for $6.65 each. And I also found a new discovery. . . for those of you that prefer using a rattle can over paying out the big bucks for a real paint job, DON"T USE THE FAST DRYING 15 MINUTE SPRAY PAINT (that I've been using my entire life), buy the "dry to the touch in 2 hours and completely dry in 9 hours spray paint. The finish in amazing for a spray can. It's impossible to leave fogging from overspray, and I haven't been able to make it run yet. I'll post up some pics in about a week.

Thanks again to all of you.
Gene

Oh yeah, registration was a snap.

Hey guys,

Still been busier than a one legged man in an ass-kicking contest, but have managed to get some work done on the wagon too. Got the front half of the exterior body painted as well as the aprons and the body work done on the fenders. Gonna paint the roof and bib this weekend, and the fenders during the week. Here's some pics...

Are you going to make the FJ45 run in it?

He told me he'd make it just as we left it in Burbank if he had to.

Don't disappoint me Gene! :)

I've got Green Chile Beer ready to go. I'll be leaving for the "relaxed" road trip to Deer Valley in only 4 days....

Dan

My wife and I really want to go. Two factors. One, getting the LV back together, and two, I just got kicked in the nuts with some pretty hefty financial stuff. Like I said though, we really want to go and could really use the trip. If we can, we'll be there. If not, we won't miss the next event. I probably won't know 'til the last minute.

Thanks again to all of you. Although things really have been crazy as of late, when I am working on the LV, I'm having a blast... that is, when I'm not overwhelmed at all there is to do. That's why I'm just concentrating on the front half. Then I'll start planning out the floors and back.

Just go to a bank and kick the teller really hard in the shins. It'll make you feel better.

Here's hoping you make it! It really looks sharp with the new paint on it.

Dan

Dan-

I love kicking my tellers in the shins!! Truly makes me feel better- no doubt :)

Junky-

The LV is looking LoVely!!!!

Keep up the picture posting!
