Is this thing on the road yet or what!
Goebs
No, but that's by choice. I got the gas tank back from being repaired about a week ago. I haven't installed it yet because there's a bunch of crap welded to the frame just behind it that I want to cut off before I send sparks flying in that direction.
I've been extremely busy with work and family, but by the middle of next week I should have the front of the frame touched up and the body work done and painted from the windshield forward. Gonna try to get the dash, front door jambs, and front doors painted and installed by Aug. 17th. From there I've gotta install the windshield, side view mirrors you sent me, and gas tank, buy two more new tires, install the rear doors as they were, throw my old carpet kit in the back to cover up the raccoon piss, lube it up and go over it from front to back with Mark and hopefully be able to make the 45Run.
I was pounding out the fender that Butch gave me and spreading the bondo on it today and my next door neighbor walked up and said, "You know, I think this one is going to be better than the first one." I agreed. It all ready is thanks to all of you, but even the body is going to turn out better. I'm jonesin' to drive it, but I want to get a few things finished first.
By the way Eric, I found a local paint supplier that will mix up any custom color you want and stick it in a spray can for $6.65 each. And I also found a new discovery. . . for those of you that prefer using a rattle can over paying out the big bucks for a real paint job, DON"T USE THE FAST DRYING 15 MINUTE SPRAY PAINT (that I've been using my entire life), buy the "dry to the touch in 2 hours and completely dry in 9 hours spray paint. The finish in amazing for a spray can. It's impossible to leave fogging from overspray, and I haven't been able to make it run yet. I'll post up some pics in about a week.
Thanks again to all of you.
