Unreal build. Glad to have caught on. Many similarities with my project. Thank you for blazing the trail!

Day 132

I found some LED turn signals that I liked that are used on semi-trucks. They seemed to be a good fit and matched the style I was after. I disassembled them and cut off the mounting rings. Next I shaved the factory spacer to accommodate the new light. All they need now is a few coats of primer and paint and then they ready to find a permanent home.

Great build, I'm really digging the seat/ sub mount. More pics please.

@ merbesfield, I was thing of going with 37 / 13.5 /17 Toyo open country M/T with Mickey Thompson 17X9 black lock II. The only thing I’m concerned about is the 4 3/8” back spacing with the tire’s width. I really don’t want to loose any turning radius.

@ lilmonster, thank you the support!

Day 133

@ pistonpete, thanks for the support.

The next project on the list was to fabricate a shifter mounting plate for the twin stick set up. My goal was to place them dead center in the original location. Then I cleaned up some roll bar pads, re-tapped the threaded holes and mounted them up.

Makes me jealous!;)

And as always, beautiful work!

I'm sure you have thought of this already, but aren't those the factory front shock mounts, and isn't that going to seriously limit the available trave with your SOA?

@ twoturtlesracing, thanks for the support! They are stock front factory shock mounts. They might limit my travel but right now I get at least 30% more travel then stock. Once I put on the right rims and tires I can do some articulation testing and figure out my bump stops and if those mounts are going to be a problem. With my current setup I think they will be ok.

Days 134-136

Fabricated the battery tray / air horn mount and then finished up the steering column mount and twin stick shifters.

Love watching this build and your skills. Very nice work.

I'm planning to shoot some Raptor, hopefully not too far in the future, and I like the way the texture on yours looks. Can you tell me what gun you used, and at what pressure? And any special technique you used to apply it?

Thanks, and again, beautiful cruiser!

@ miker, Thanks again for all the support. Regarding the U-pol Rapture, this is what I did.
1. Make sure the surface is painted or primed, Rapture does not work well on bare metal
2. Prep surfaces making sure its clean / oil free, then sand with 220+ grit sandpaper where you
can. I used a red cuff pad in areas where I could not sand.
3. Remove all dust using compressed air.
4. I used the gun that comes with the kit.
5. PSI set to 60-65 on the gun, you will need at add your own gauge on the gun. I found it
works better if you control the pressure at the gun not at the tank.
6. Then spray 18”-24” away.

Days 137-138

One of the last things to create was the cooling tower. I wanted something that was easy removable and that mounted to the factory locations. It needed to be one complete assembly that housed a radiator, reservoir and fan, plus coolers for the power steering and transmission.

Day 139

Looked every where to find some air intake tubes for the intake system. I could find anything that fit correctly, the only thing that was the correct shape, size and that was strong enough was some PVC water piping. I know this stuff should be used for an intake but after a few coats of paint and a little TLC they will look like OEM (or better).

Days 140-141

Next I disassembled the entire interior and prepped everything for paint (one last trip to the media blaster). Then I applied two coats for DP90 and two coats of SEM signal stage flat black. All they need now is some time to dry and their ready to be bolted back together.

Day 142

I painted all the plastic parts including my PVC intake tubes (now they look ok) and the heater components. Next I mounted some new badges I got from Toyota.
