So I recently upgraded the rear cargo area of my 85 cruiser. Since installing new interior from a donor. The rear panels where trash so decided to replace and make new ones. So I bought some 1/4 MDF and traced out my old panels. Cut it with jigsaw. Drilled out all the holes. And covered it with carpeting I bought at Home Depot.
All is done but now I want too know how too attach too existing holes and what I should I use? Overall the work was easy and cheap. Change the look of the rear cargo! I am very satisfied with it.

I forgot to add my last update to this thread. Since my last post here. To bring up to speed this thread I have since replaced fan belts all or mostly all cooling hoses and clamps, thermostat and lower housing, side top tube for oil engine cooler, pink BSV valve the one on the top housing, next replacing the old Bosch alternator with a Napa replacement due to firmament issues.
Now my next task is to replace the clutch components yesterday I started with the purchase of a few parts
Throw out bearing and pilot bearing.
Boy not cheap!
For now I am accumulating parts once I gather all the parts I will start dropping that tranny. I know I will eventually purchase a transfer case seal kit and whatever may be available.

Pick'd up a few more clutch components for my 84 FJ60.

Remember to support the engine under the oil pan with a floor jack do it doesn't kill you, or worse, destroy your motor mounts.

Ok, yes I will thank you.
I found that using a Motorcycle jack works well for removing tranny and transfer case. Used it on my last fj62 I sold swapping the automatic.

Motorcycle jack is a great idea. When I pulled mine I used a hydraulic table thing from Harbor Freight, worked great except that I had the truck on wheels so I had to take it off the cart under the truck, using long 2x4's. Was kind of ridiculous.

Yeah the cradles on the MC jack are wide and long enough to support the tran. Best thing close to a actual trans jack.

It's been a awhile since my last post. Today I bought a fuel pump for Dusty at my local dealer. I figure since I will be rebuilding the carb I should also start with fresh lines,fuel filter, and a fuel pump.
Bought new gaskets and spacer removed old one and scraped off the old gasket on the mounting surface.
Scraped and clean surface with a blade and a wire wheel and wire brush!
Cleaned and soaked the existing bolts an attached the new pump.
Nice to install new genuine parts.
Next week I'm picking up a few more items I ordered. Slowly but surely I will finish this rig. Hoping to have her running by November for the Annual Surf and Turf.

cleaned and de greased valve cover replaced gasket and ordered new grommets.

Great work so far. You mention replacing fuel lines with the fuel pump. I bought a bunch of stuff for mine recently Plugs, wires, distributor etc and fuel pump and filter. Didn't think to buy fuel lines. Did you get those at the local dealer when you got your pump?

Project Dusty Update!
Has been awhile since I updated this thread. Got around to doing some work to Dusty today!
Had to remove RR tire cause valve stem had broken off and
Removed water pump and cleaned base and around surrounding area.
Replaced old alternator with new alternator with correct oriented regulator
Degreased and scraped old dirt and grime off of the A/C pump.
