Brock is going to need that down at Tech. Gordy's will be calling

There might even still be an off-road club at Tech that will have too many Jeeps in it.

There is. My son is going to NMT. He just finished his second year.

Too bad they didn't have one when I went there. But I didn't have a 4X4 back then either. Although, I was pretty daring with my '76 Datsun 620.

You would be.......:)

moving along a little again. painted most of the outside and the dash, installed the bib lights and the hood ornament. lots of liitle things that aren't picture worthy.

It's the little things that make the project... hang in there, keep at it, and it will be awesome!

I'm confused. Leaf springs? I thought you were keeping the FZJ80 coils.

the frame and axles/suspension are FJ60. only the engine is FZJ80.

yep John, we are plugging away. a few more bolts bought and in place today.

FJ60 frame. FJ40 body. FZJ80 engine. Geez, I can't keep up.

The engine came put of the rolled 80 that was at our house for a time. It belonged to a guy from Jemez Springs. David was his name I believe. The tailgates from that same truck are on Sarah's 80 now.

keeping this thread alive. we just got Brock an F150. It looks like he may be interested in taking my FJ40. This would then be my project. Since starting work in the office, I have had no time for this. but retirement in 9 months could breath some new life into it. though we are strongly looking at moving to Montana or Idaho. it will likely be finished there. it's got strong hunting vehicle possibilities.

9 months to retirement-so jealous! Montana or Idaho would be great, too. You'll have to give this one a new name, unless 16 is the number of years to build it!

you know, that may be the case for the name. we are at 11 years now.

Jealous. I've got at least 15 years before I have any hopes of retirement since I don't have a pension anywhere I've worked. Maybe that's enough time to work on Danise and convince her to move there.

Jill had reservations early on, but she's all in now.
